Friends - September 2006

I have a very good friend that for the last 9 months has been bravely fighting a brain tumour. He's a few hours away and I've been visiting every month or so so I've experienced some of his highs and lows. I visited last week which I enjoyed and he was in good heart, feeling positive and we were planning on how we were going to celebrate the 1 year anniversary. Just a few days later, I hear that he has gone downhill fast, there is now no chance of recovery and that now he's unlikely to last a day or two. I can visit tonight but he won't know I am there.

Should I go and say my last farewell or retain the memory of last weeks positive images?

ps I do plan to go, but would welcome other peoples viewpoints

I just need something to keep me going. Yes I am looking for a job, but work is slow in my home town. I've watched all my dvd's, played all my computer games, read all my books. So if anyone wants to chat to me about something u r very welcome.

Every where I go, females have all eyes on me, and I dont mean it in a way that they want to be with me, but they give that look like if the know me from somewhere then they look me on my eyes and smile and look down. I mean this happend everywhere I go. I mean is it the color of my eyes or what? I have light brown eyes. Or is that they think I'm cool and they want to be friends? Do they feel emphaty for me? what is it? and I apologize if I didnt make any sense, thank you and GOD bless you?

It annoys me and her other roommates. We all agree that iher singing is bearable to some extent, but she's doing it a lot, loudly and it drives us nuts. She believes that she sings really loudly like she was Mariah Carey or Celin Dion. Frankly, I believe her singing is as good as the top rejects on American Idol. We love her and don't want to hurt her feelings, so do we just spend the rest of our lives, tolerating it?

i am in primary 5 now and my teacher asked me to skip primary 6 and she wants me to go secondary 1 the next year she gave me an option either i should skip or not.my friend still does not know these problem yet.should i tell them? should i skip primary 6?i will miss my friends what should i do?i know there`s 2 ways the first one is i can email them but these would not help any because they don`t have a computer.they can`t affort to buy it.the second one is to meet them some where,but i don`t have anytime to do these.pls help!!!i will be going to methodist girls high school after that.my teacher have ask me to skip one time which i was in primary 1,immediately i have skip to primary 3 i have miss my friends.should i just skip again? i got good result in all the subject in school ,because of that so i have to skip one level and i wouldn`t saw my friends anymore.thanks

i have know this guy for about humm....6 years...hes always been kinda fruity...i just recently found gay porn on his computer. i totally dont hate gay people, i've worked with them. he is always pessemistic, and is all about drama in the friend circle...goes behind peoples backs...i just wanna know if i should be like "dude, i know your gay i dont care, thats your thing" or should i wait until hes comfortable enough with it himself....???

he has been acting very odd lately....... he has been calling me alot more almost every couple of hours and when we r alone he is pretty normal (he is a bit more affectionate) but when we r around our other friends he is quieter and more reserved. even his family has asked me whats wrong with him. i dont know what to do. im worried about him. what do u think?

im a sophmore in highschool and during my freshman year made a lot of friends but during the summer i went through a lot with my friends making things difficult. If someone who didnt know me and i was one of my classes had to describe me they would say the girl that doesnt say anything, bites her nails, and turns red really quickly. I hate how i am very shy because i miss out on becoming close to people and the think is all my best friends are really really popular but out of all of them im the shyest and the most insecure. i know i have some really cool traits and im really funny but thats only when im really really close to someone, and my friends call me cute. i feel like it bothers me more becuase all my friends are social to the point they know everyone and im always like "just there". how do i become more confident and social.

A few months ago a friend of mine must leave their house because they couldn’t afford to pay the rent. The husband asked me to borrow him money to rent a another house, but I made a decision that they would be better off living with me as I was living alone, also in a rented house. And I made a trade: I would support the family with my income and they would help me manage the house, cooking, and washing (including mine). I do think that the money I gave them is quite enough to live a decent living as I myself is not a rich man. So if they need more money, they must manage it by themselves. At first, they do it happily, but now I can feel that they do it half-heartedly.

About this family:
Back then:
The husband just loose his job for a month. The wife worked as a night shift waitress (still working up until now), with a minimum wage, and could not support the family fully. They have a 4 years old daughter, a 2 years old son, and a 1 year old daughter. The youngest daughter lived with their parents in another city.

Now (about 4 months later):
Their condition is more or less still the same. The husband still out of work and the wife still work as a waitress with minimum wage and stil cannot support the family fully.

Recent events:
About a week ago I protested them for buying electronics (a TV set and a Tape recorder), as I do think that they should prioritize more important needs, and they ought to remember that they still could not support themselves. I also asked the husband several times about when he would find a job as it was already five months he was out of job. I didn’t receive a satisfying answer.

My friend, who i have been friends with since as long as i can remember all of a sudden changed into something that you dont like. my cousin has this friend that he introduced me to a good amount of months ago. he had just moved in and i found out that now he lives a block away from me! he seemed really nice and cool and watevr but i never saw him a lot. the night i met him, we all went to his house and i had a lot fun but after that, we never spoke again. it was kinda annoying cuz i wanted to be his friend but it was a bit weird cuz i only knew him through my cousin. about a month ago, my cousin was at my house and he invited his friend over to hang and it was awesome to see him again. we became pretty good friends that night but once again, we didn't speak after that. i just spent the entire weekend with him which was amazing but it was only cuz my cousin was over!!!! i wanna be able to still be close with this guy even when my cousin isn't around. he lives a freaking block away from me!!!! my cousin is getting me the guy's cell phone # but i feel like it'll be weird and awkward if i call him. what should i do??

to me, a bully is someone who intentionally hurts someone unfairly. a bully is someone who doesn't have a fair or legitimate explanation as to why they're bullying someone. bullies a lot of the time take power over you if you let them. people usually bully out of jealousy or their own personal suffering. bullies hate nothing more than to see their target happy and in control of their own life. so if you want to get revenge on a bully, be happy and do not worry about them. it's the worst thing you could ever do, because it's frustrating for them. they want to control you and rob you of your life and happiness, and if they see they aren't doing that, then they probably won't like it.
