Tell her you haven't lost your will for her to live and that you'll be there for her anytime! Try and make plans to be with her at least once or twice a week. Either start a weekly card game, watch a series together each week, and maybe go out once a week either dinner, bowling, movie, pool, darts, bar whatever. Trust me I was there and if it weren't for my children who knows. Depression/loneliness is the worse combo!! But unfortunately usually come hand-in-hand.

If she likes to read suggest she read: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. It's a very good book. Not a self-help book by any means but you can take from her experiences and apply them to your own life.

Best of luck and my prayers are with your friend.

Apparently her councilor is not helping!!!! First let her know how much it would hurt you if she was no longer here. 2. get her to take walks with you 3. If she can handle it tell her how selfish it would be for her to take her own life. How many people would she leave behind that love her. 4. If at all possible get her the Attacking Anxiety and Depression program it is by Lucinda Bassett. It is worth every penny. THE PHONE # IS FOR CUSTOMER INFORMATION1-800-944-9428. SECOND # IS CUSTOMER SERVICE 1-80-944-9460 AND THE PHONE SUPPORT # IS 1-800-515-1133 I can help my IM is available.

Just be there for her! Let her know that no matter what you are there for her. If she is taking meds and seeing a therapist, there isn't much more you can do but be the best friend to her you can be! Good for you! I'm proud to read that someone out there actually cares about the well being of a friend! :)

Get her out of her funk . Tell her that there is someone, some where who needs her, and is waiting to meet her. Tell her if she does something stupid, that she will never find that person. If she is suicidal, tell her that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. You can not be there for her 24/7, but you can be there some of the time. Introduce her to others. Look in your local paper, or on line for a support group, and take her to a meeting or two. Hang in there with her, and thank you for helping. But as I said, get more help. If you think she is seriously suicidal, get professional help now for her. Pray.

. Tell her or take her to a counselor. Depression can have fatal consequences. If you can't get her to go, then look up a hot-line she can call about problems anonymously. Sometimes they just need someone to talk to .You don't say, is she elderly? Does she have health problems? Getting over a divorce? She has got to get to the source of her problems. Your city, will have resources listed in your local phone book. Take it from there, but whatever you do, don't wait....She needs attention. Many times these services are free.

Tell your friend that you care very much about her. That there are times in life when things may not seem right, but there is always a solution to every problem. Finding the solution takes patience, time and believing in oneself. We all have one life to live and we must fullfill that life with happiness in the best possible way we know how. I am not talking about money, success but peacefulness, love, acceptance of who we are. I believe your friend needs to feel loved, accepted and encourged to take one day at a time. She needs to do whatever she needs to do in order to make her days more satisfying, because I have learnt you are the maker of your own life and only you can make that change.

I would probably evaluate what I knew about her and her situation and probe a little into what it was that was making her feel that way, if it was something deep set inside that didn't seem to have a cause, or if it was something that was a feeling do to a recent event. After that I would either reccomend that she see her Dr. and explain how she is feeling, or try and be the friend she needed to get her over the temporary bump, that life sometimes deals us...wouldn't you want the same???

Get her interested in an exercises class that is also interested in nutrition and good health. sounds like her meds could be a problem for her. it's been known that those anti depressants can cause harm. also a nutritionist at a local hospital could help.

be there when she tells her stories about how depressed she is, take her to a trip, let her see some fantastic sites, she will think twice, give her some chocolates, and never never judge her when she is relating her story, i am also depressed and i hate it when i tell a story and someone judges me for that, i also take chocolates just to get by, i watch a lot of movie with comedy in it, it usually helps me get by, so that i wont think of suicide

I'd definitely seek a professional's advice asap. Try contacting her therapist or family. I would take her VERY seriously and get her help anyway you can think of.
