My mom was there for me, loved me and whatever. My dad was a philanderer, didn't find that our till high school. They divorced when I was 19. Old history. Now, my mom is ths same. My step-mom (my dad's high school sweetheart who he didn't marry till 2 divorces, but very happy now) is awesome. She's a total pragmatist, very willing to listen to other people, able to accept alternate points of view, very compatible with my own political persuasions and willing to be an activist about it...the problem is this: my mom is my mom, but she's a coward. My step-mom is tremendous. How do I get over feeling that my step-mom is stronger? I know that my mom is my mom, and that's that. But my step-mom's so much more in line with me...feeling ambivalent...

So let me set up the scenario: I went out drinking today with my buddies, and when I got home the driveway is still full of snow because she won't get off her lazy *** and shovel it. I come in the house and my empty beer bottles from the last 2 nights are STILL all over the house, dirty dishes in the sink...you get the picture. Anyhow she gives me these lame excuses as always like "I was busy today" or, "why can't you do it?" or "You sorry SOb I'm a quadripelegic." I get so tired of hearing the same old excuses I dion't know what to do...please offer me some suggestions.

I have only been dating this guy for about a month and he told me he loved me a week ago. Is that too early? I mean from what he and his parents have told me I am the best girlfriend he has ever had. I treat him way better than the other ones ever though about doing. Is it possible he has fallen so quickly b/c of how I treat him? Is he afraid of losing me? My exboyfriend, my first love whom I was with from the time I was 16 until I was 19, just sent me a message on myspace to tell me that he was having a baby with his new girlfriend and to say hello and see how life is treating me. It's weird because I had a dream about him 2 weeks ago out of the blue and have been thinking about him non-stop ever since and then he contacts me for the first time in 5 years. I have a son and am engage but I am VERY depressed all of a sudden hearing that he is going to be starting a family with someone else and is also getting married. I thought I was over him but I'm realizing now that I never have gotten over him. I can't stop thinking about him and am so depressed. I have never felt the connection I felt with him with anyone else, my fiance included, and my ex has told me the same thing in the past. We shared something very special. How can I let him go? I've tried but can't stop dwelling on this. Thanks.

So this video is fake? It would sure seem so. Is has been said she is an aspiring actress from Canada. I met this girl about a year ago. We went to the same place for spring break and I had one of the best times of my life with her. When we got back from spring break(college) things were different. She ended up with a past boyfriend and got back with him pretty much until this past fall. I sorta kept up with her over the phone. She came to a few of my parties this fall and on one lucky night I got to kiss her again, it wasnt like the old passionate ones but for some strange reason I just loved this girl. We kept talking, mainly over the phone. She never wanted anything but to "talk" and go on a few dates. Christmas break came and we talked at least everyday over break. She could never tell me she liked me and could never tell me she didn't. We hungout once after that, funtime.. the next weekend she got with some 6'8" football player and threw me away. she seems in love. I feel like a loser, and cant get her out of my head. she knew i'd do anything for her and doesnt care. what do i do?

my best friend and her husband got married in 1993. we all have been friends and when they got divorced me and him remained friends she knew and is great about. they ahve becomes better friends since there divorce. when i got divorced in 2005. we began to see each other more on outing but never together always with other people. recently we ran into each other at a party. we began talking on the phone almost daily. i have never looked at him as anything other than a friend up til this point but latly that as all changed. neither one of us have been dating for the last year in a half and we have talked about it but everytime that boy comes near me i start to think about us getting together but i really don't want to hurt my best friend in the process. what do i do

I am in a relatively new relationship with a guy in the Canadian Air Force...it is unlikely that he will be posted anywhere for at least a couple of years. Things are going well between us - we are in love and he wants us to live together - my only problem is that I am an only child and my parents do not have that much family around so its pretty much just the two of them....I feel really guilty at the prospect of leaving them behind some day - when I think of them alone together and old without me around to help them it pretty much breaks my heart - I know that the idea of me leaving is bothering them and they have dropped some hints - is there anything I can do to overcome this guilt? Should I walk away from my relationship and find something safer. I love my parents so much - they have always been there for me and now I feel like I am deserting them.....PLEASE HELP!!! :(

i weigh about 210lbs and i realy want to diet and excerse and i have the time to but my husband wont let me. He has said to me if i lose weight he will leave me and try and take custody of the kids. he says he will bring up that i use to have a herion addiction when my eldest son was 3 at court. im clean now but still i think that would not be good. I tried to secretly diet and he noticed and he now weighs me every night and if i have lost even a pound he makes me eat a huge dinner the next night. if i tell him no he slaps me across the face. when we meet 12 years ago i weighed 130 so its not like ive never been thin.

what should i do?

i'm really scared to be in relationships because most of my family's and friends relationships have all failed. my parents are divorced & so are my grandparents, my sister's been married 3 times & most of friends relationships don't last very long. i'm afraid my love life is affected by this because i tend to push people away when i feel i am getting too attatched. is this the right thing to do?

While I was reading the wedding invitation sent to me and my girlfriend from my coworker, I didn't recognize who the two people were who were requesting our attendance at their wedding. You see, I didn't know Su, my coworker, was short for Suzanne. And I thought her boyfriend's first name was Van, yet on the invitation his name reads Jean-Peter Van-Wouw Himsteren.
I want for my working relationships to remain working relationships. For my personal relationships I'd like to leave them personal. I have a lot of things to do, a large family with whom I like to share a lot of myself and a job I love that takes up a lot of my time.
I do not socialize with my coworker, nor have i ever in the past 5 years of working with her have I ever talked with her on the phone after work hours are up. I met her husband-to-be only twice in the past 5 years.
I like my coworker and admire her enthusiasm. I am happy for her, her mate and her family she is, at 40 years old, getting married.
Should I go?
