I see the question "how do I know if I'm in love?" asked over and over again by young teens and I find it amusing since it seems to me TRUE love requires significantly more emotional and mental maturity. Teenage crushes and 'puppy love' don't seem to me to be on an equal plane with the feelings of romantic affection between mature adults. I'm tempted sometimes to reply to them to wait a few years to grow as a person and then they'll understand what true love is when both they and their romantic interest grow fond of each other. I like seeing the old married couples still loyal and affectionate toward each other after so many years. THAT'S what I call true love.

i havent eaten in 5 days.
my friends are starting to get freaked out bc they noticed that i havent actually eaten with them "for like EVER" (we're 14) im NOT skinny (195lbs)but i feel the need to be the skinniest girl in my class. i think im gonna just start eating dinner when i HAVE to. whenever i wear slightly too big clothes my mom says they slim me down which makes me feel REALLY fat. i dont think im anorexic. do you? what are some ways to resist the urge to eat? im having a lot of trouble.

i just feel like he thinks i'm not good enough, on many different levels, not sexually good enough (lookin i guess), i'm not good enough as a friend. it's affecting my whole life. i was always pretty confident and independence. does that threaten a guy?

For me it was until 14 but I was occasionally "threatened" with them until 16. I am mid 30s now..,with all this talk about social services and child abuse, is it really true people don't spank much any more?....that must be an interesting way to get raised.

It was very effective for me and I usually was not spanked more than 4 or 5 times a year (except for one phase when I was 10 where it was every few weeks or so). For me it was the hand, wooden spoon or belt, over a knee or over the bed, usually I had my jeans or undies on but it still hurt plenty and the point was made loud and clear! it was also very embarrassing by the time I reached 12 or so.

I had been dating this guy for 8 yrs now and well since i got my car last november and his mom and dad got caugt driving by the police with out insurance and his dad got put in jail they dont drive there car anymore well it's been a year almost now and they still ask me for rides and i told my boyfirend that i cant do nomore runing for them cause it's not my place and it's getting old plus wearing my car down doing so much running that was in febuary when i said that to him and he got mad about it. when i had my permit over the summer last year i lived with him and his parents and it was hell then feb. when i got my liceses i came back home. but i can go with out 3 days going over there and when i do go back over there his mom wants me do running it's like i dont go over there to see him i feel like they are using me and wanting me over cause of my car. I dont know what to do i am sick and tired of it and i dont know how to talk to my boyfriend about it with out him getting mad HELP!!!

My daughter is 3 yrs old, her father has never seen her, and his custody rights are if he calls far enough ahead of time and i agree to it which he has never tried, i recently came to florida with my fiance to stay for a month with his family to see if we want to move here, which we probably will but we are still planning on coming back to indiana (the state my daughters dad and my house are in) but i forwarded my adress here for 2 months just in case, now her father is calling me telling me he is filing kidnapping charges on me, can he do this?
