I see the question "how do I know if I'm in love?" asked over and over again by young teens and I find it amusing since it seems to me TRUE love requires significantly more emotional and mental maturity. Teenage crushes and 'puppy love' don't seem to me to be on an equal plane with the feelings of romantic affection between mature adults. I'm tempted sometimes to reply to them to wait a few years to grow as a person and then they'll understand what true love is when both they and their romantic interest grow fond of each other. I like seeing the old married couples still loyal and affectionate toward each other after so many years. THAT'S what I call true love.

I agree with you. Puppy love cannot be compared to adult love. However, I think given enough time it can develop into something more substantial as the teens mature and the relationship endures more struggles, good times, and deeper things than high school dramas. I know that no teen would agree with this and even I wouldn't have 10 years ago but someday they too will understand what it takes to truly love. I especially like to see them holding hands or the lady sitting next to her husband in the truck just like a teenager would do.

I kinda agree and kinda don't. I think, that If you follow the traits specifyed in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, and you are certain that you'd give your life for this person, and you have romantic feelings for this person, then you love them. No matter what the age. Yes, it's more likely to fall in love when you're older because you have more experince and maturaty, but for true love, age doesn't matter.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NLT): "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."
If you follow all these traits most of the time for someone - then you obviously love the person. It just makes sense.

One way you're right but in another you're wrong. You can be in love as a teen and it can evolve into a more serious relationship. UP until college and maybe result in marriage. That's what happened to my parents.
