and she started first grade today. i felt like crying b/c she is getting so big and i'm scared that them kids will not treat her right. she's a good, nice, beautiful girl who is shy. i hope that her first day will go ok. but the question is will i always feel like crying every year she starts school again. she is my only child my baby and i want her to have the best of everything including friends and lots of them.

My fiance and I want to register at a honeymoon registry site, where our guests can pay for parts of our honeymoon as wedding gifts. We don't need any household stuff- is it tacky to only register for the honeymoon site and nowhere else? I have no idea what else I would register for?? I met him in may and fell head over heels in love..... we only spent a week together.... best week ever!!! we kept in touch over the phone, emails etc for the last few months.... we talk about everything... anyway I went to go see him for 2 weeks got bk yesterday... on friday he proposed to me.... My mum and I fell out over two years ago. But my mum is now using my 17 yr old daughter to get at me. She is smothering her with gifts, has even found her a flat, that she can't even afford. I want my daughter to stay at home until she is financially ok to manage a flat on her own. I cannot approach my mum, as my daughter thinks I am picking on my mum then, and me and my daughter end up having a blazing row. I have tried to explain this situation to my daughter, but she can't see it. I know my mum, and I know that she is trying to drive a wedge between me and my daughter. What can I do? I don't want to stir things up, but I also don't want my daughter to make the wrong decisions that would make her life difficult. I have a son of 15, my mother doesn't even bother with him. What can I do?
