Hi world! I just put another video in youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6u7BzCPFdQQ
I don´t know what is happening in your country right now, but here in Mexico it´s really getting hot and wet. I recorded some TV-News also. Feel free to watch my other videos also in youtube. They are in different languages. I really would like if you could help me in finding people who can give my message to other countries, because as more people we are
as better we can do something for this planet. Global Warming is real, even a blind man can see it (even feel it). So I hope I can count on you. There is nothing to loose, but we can win everything in turning off our lights on 9 th of september (local time) for 9 minutes. Once this is in the news, more doors can get opened. I count on you, the world needs you. Think of your children also. We all deserve a planet with conditions for a comfortable life. Here can you find more videos: www.youtube.com/cancunhans

For years this problem has vexed me as I have tried to do my bit to stave of global warming. I now have no more room in my loft due to the accumulated bags of toenail clippings. It's time to take action. Do I compost them, burn them, eat them? You tell me.

less than 1% of the atmosphere is greenhouse gas

Nature has slowly adapted to uptake roughly the same amount of CO2 that it gives off. This is a steady state known as the carbon cycle. Nature cannot adapt fast enough to uptake the amount (4% of all co2 emissions) that human activity produces. Every second this amount builds up in the atmosphere.

The greenhouse effect - fact
CO2 is a greenhouse gas - fact

CO2 is believed to be responsible for roughly 1/2 of enhanced
greenhouse effect.

CH4 - absorbs 20 times more IR light than CO2- human activity accounts for more than 50% of all methane emissions
HFC's - absorbs hundreds of times more IR light than CO2- Human activity responsible for nearly 100% of HFC emissions, HFC's have no natural sink.
-Countless other greenhouse gases emitted by human activity.

We can argue about doom and gloom scenarios, but
how can you make a logical argument that human activity does change the climate at all?

This question for example:

Global warming real or a money making sceme?
I have watched over the past several months the snowballing effect of the politically correct term Global warming. With the past weekends Live Earth concert and other events and news stories. im beginning to ask myself...and now you...is this the new money making sceme of the millenium? another way to fleece the public out of hard earned wages...im not saying do your part for the environment on a grassroots level...but i say...let these millionaires in their airplanes and big fancy cars pay to clean up the environment all these rock stars and movie stars, kings, queens, sheiks, etc...theyve got the money and the power to do it...stop bugging me...and asking for my money...

The climate has gone up and down for billions of years.
It's been much hotter and much colder.
The temperature has gone up and down slower and faster.
There has been much more and much less CO2 in the atmosphere.
Other planets in the solar system are changing at the same rate as earth.

Why is it any different now?
Is it because humans exsist?

It seems that the so called environ"MENTAL" crowd would be behind global warming if it's going to be as bad as they say. All of the catastrophy that they claim will happen will only result in a reduction of population, a key component in there argument to stop global warming.

And if the debate is over, do the proponents of global warming understand they have lost?

If a person that maximizes their voice will increase temperature, then we might be able to stop global warming by minimizing our voices.

ookay so i am thirteen. ive heard alot about global warming. right now im kinda thinking it isnt real. it just doesnt add up! ive studied that if you condensed the history of all life up until now (from the first tiny life form to dinos, to cavemen, to humans) in to one hour, human life would only be in the last ten seconds! and more than half of that time we didnt even have the things that they say "cause global warming". it doesnt seem possible that we destroyed the world so quickly! second if you took all the cars. and factories and planes in the WORLD and put them all together in one place it would only fill the state of california! third all the carbon deoxcide thats "trapped in the atmosohere " plants use to make more oxygen! n fourth the sun goes through 12 year cycles of heat and in the ice age it got suddenly warm and there was nothing to polute the atmosphere then! but now im a little confused with all the stuff going on with global warming and adevertising? what's the truth

im so sick of people telling the world that global warming is occuring because...it isn't. God would NOT give us an earth that can be destroyed, i fully believe that. Also, why doesn't anyone believe that along with seasons the earth goes through tremendously hot and cold periods in a cycle: like the ice age? maybe the earth was incredibly hot before that. its a cycle, so deal with it! humans have NOTHING to do with global warming and are just a TINY part of earth. there is NO WAY that we could have created this "problem". Al Gore has shoved wrong information down our throats and even scientists have disproved most if not ALL of his ridiculous "so called facts". Also, Al Gore is changing our views by first telling us what he thinks, forcing others to believe it, gotten political people involved, discredited scientists and professionals who disagree and are posioning the youth with this nonsense..this reminds me of another event that followed the same steps: the holocast. anyone agree?

In both cases you have to ignore a massive database of information contrary to your view. In both cases the vast majority of the scientific community disagrees. In both cases there are a few very noisy skeptics (some are scientists, most are very much not) who claim the truth of their skeptical views, demanding that they be given equal status, which is silly, given the state of the science. In both cases you can't "run the experiment" and have to rely on circumstantial evidence for the truth. Much of the evidence is only available to, and can only be interpreted by, trained scientists.

What's the difference? Global warming skeptics accuse global warming theory of being a "religious" belief. Giving the state of the science, isn't that term most appropriately applied to global warming denial?

My brother believes that global warming is just propaganda so that people will buy hybrid cars. My take on the situation is even if global warming isn't real, than its like a giant test and the question is will we stop polluting and using so much gas to save our planet? Personally i think we are failing this test. What's your take?

Why do people who are famous or well known come out with these movies about global warming and point the finger at everyone except themselves?

I mean they live in ridiculously sized houses fly around in their private jets , limos , and tour buses. Shouldnt they practice what they preach? I can see them having big housing lots but why not just have smaller houses? Do they really need 20 bedrooms with 10 baths and 2 swimming pools?

I have no problem with people owning these things but if you are speaking out against something but do the opposite your an idiot.

Heads up to everyone, there is a group at UW-Madison that has done some modeling and found that they can explain the warming AND cooling that we have seen the last 100 years.

Here is the reference:

Tsonis, A. A., K. Swanson, and S. Kravtsov (2007), A new dynamical mechanism for major climate shifts, Geophys. Res. Lett., 34, L13705, doi:10.1029/2007GL030288.

It is quite the paper. It uses four oceanic oscillation systems and investigates the synchronization and coupling between the systems and the ramifications of coupling.
