After looking around and seeing all the majestic trees, gorgeous lakes, and abundant wildlife, it struck me as odd that upstate NY doesn't appear to be as affected by global warming as other ecosystems around the world are studied and reported.

Quit acting like they are in all global warming arguments gore comes up. Gore flies in a plane Gore is a retard. Believe that if you want to but quit acting like dissing somebody who is putting the truth out there is a valid argument! Try some scientific conclusions that disprove it or something more convincing than pretending everyone who believes in global warming worships Al Gore and you can change their mind by saying he is stupid. Most people who care about global warming don't care about gore at all

3CH4 + 3CO2 = C6H12O6

Can this be done on a global scale to remove two of the worst greenhouse gases around? Without cutting down any trees?

you simply cannot buy flood insurance anymore in some places that haven't flooded. was your home damaged due to flooding or heavy rain - settling your claim might depend on the distinction?

insurance companies have been paying (and denying) claims forever, but since the occurrences of hurricanes katrina and rita in the states, and historic flooding in britain, they HAVE to be reconsidering their options.

i'm curious to hear how your insurance company has changed your coverage (if at all) due to potentially devastating weather conditions where you live. if you're in the insurance business, all the better: how are you adjusting your practices (if at all) to deal with this 'new' reality?

I want to make a project about it and would like to include some videos and pictures and such. Is there a website that deals with global warming through videos and lots of pictures? I know global warming isn't a funny issue, but a humorous video will catch people's attention.... is there a website like this?

Thanks in advance

I don't know too much about the subject but my family and organization (Fix Our World Society) are going green because we know its a problem. If you want to insult al gore go ahead I don't care because it isn't his idea. To bring up al gore is to say you don't have any good scientific reason for doubt. If you want to bring in the bible and say god will never flood the whole earth again power to you! Unfortunately it wouldn't flood the whole earth. The only thing a person who brings up scripture knows about global warming is what they saw in The Day After Tommorow. Please don't be a part of the issue and learn something about global warming

I have a BS degree in Biology with a minor in Conservation Ecology. You are all being lied to with propaganda disguised ad science. Al Gore WILL be a laughing stock in 10 years.

In the mid 1960's it was "Global Cooling" - we were to be destroyed by a new ice age.

In the 80's it was "Acid Rain" - it will kill all plants, marine life and make your hair fall out (women flipped)

In 1999 it was Y2K - complete and total shut-down of all systems - with a stone age to follow.

Today, it is "global warming". A masterpiece of Al Gore and others with private agenda's and scare tactics.

Is Global Warming, as presented by our 'leaders', a sham and just yet another natural cycle of the earth?

I already heard one news anchor attempt to link the two together by saying "It's been extremely warm here this summer, could that be a possibility."

Worry about global warming? Check out Al Gore’s private jet statistics. His Jet is putting emissions directly into the upper troposphere. When injected together into the icy atmosphere, the mix of exhaust gases - including water vapor, unburned hydrocarbons, particulates, sulfates, nitrogen oxides (NOX), and carbon dioxide, not to mention Al Gore’s own WASTE - produces clouds and has two to three times the warming effect of carbon dioxide alone and you can check me on this.

Look if you are really concerned on the Global warming effect, then stop all your efforts and go NUCLEAR. The cleanest source of energy there is. So you are afraid of this? What if it melts down? Well, 50,000 people will die alright. But when was the last time this happened? (Trust me some of you were not alive when I saw it in Russia) – by the time you finish reading this, thousands of people would have died today thanks to CO2, not NUCLEAR disasters.

Way to go Al Gore!! You keep flying those planes!!

the world isn't screwed like some people think. If we work together to save it, i believe we can do it. If everyone cared about it it would already probably been being cut down.

What we can do to stop it.

1. Turning off lights
2. Using energy saving light bulbs
3.RECYCLING
4.putting decomposable trash into a compost pile
6. buy greener cars
7. DON'T LITTER
8.Carpool so you waste less gas
9. write to the mayor/governor/president to put sccrubbers on ALL smokestacks
10.pay bills online instead of through mail

Can anyone think of anything else? that's all i got.

I really want to save this earth. Do you? if you do please post another way to conserve our earth..with some willpower and some faith, we can save earth and maybe even totally reverse the global warming process! Now.
Do you want to make a difference? (that's a rhetorical question)

Global warming hasn't been proven... I challenge anyone to quote any REAL evidence that human behaviour is responsible for global warming or that any flood/storm is caused by global warming!

The truth is the earth's temperature has always fluctuated and the hottest time was actually WAY before humans started driving cars, or riding in planes... The time when you would expect there to have been the most global warming, in the post - war Economic boom when people were pumping the most fumes into the air, there was actually a dip in the earths temperature...

The earth's temperature actually coincides with the activity of the sun... when the sun omits more radiation towards the earth, the earth unsurprisingly heats up.... It has absolutely nothing to do with humans, and I challenge someone to come up with some actual, convincing evidence

Could rising global temperatures mean more opportunities 4 exploration? Such as possible sea routes across the Arctic? Have u herd about Russia dropping a capsule w/ their flag @ the N. Pole? Also, will there b more opportunitys 2 explore resources, i.e. petroleum, hidden in permafrost or ice shelves, such as the poles and Siberia? In fact, I think Siberia does have a lot of petroleum & minerals, but the bad weather & maybe some mismanagement has hindered exploitation of such materials for Russia.
