I've had my hybrid for five years now. I've been conserving, recycling, limiting environmental damage, etc., for many years longer. I did it before all the hoopla about global warming, and I'll continue to do it even when/if it falls out of fashion. I do it because it's the right thing to do - not because I'm afraid for my life or lifestyle or that of my daughters or their children...
There is too much that is not quite "right" about Global Climate Change as it is being presented today:
How real is something that exists only in computer models that cannot even agree with each other?
How real is something that only holds up in the computer models during the night, but is invalid during the day?
How real is something that only holds up in the computer models over land but is invalid over the majority of the Earth (oceans)?
How real is something that only holds up in the computer models for the Northern Hemisphere and not the Southern?
How real is something that acknowledges the principle Greenhouse gas (water vapor) but excludes it from computer models because they cannot quantify it?
How real is something that favors ground-based stations and all the individual biases which can quickly compound errors over state-of-the-art thermal sensing satellites?
We could go on, but I'm having trouble trying to find the "real" part of global warming. I'll leave deciding whether it is real or not up to you.

The funny thing about global warming is that no one has ever laid out the true ground rules. First of all, what is the normal temperature of the Earth? How do we know global warming isn't occurring just because we have been below the natural temperature? Second, how do we even come up with a natural temperature planet wide? Do we just pick a bunch of places and average the temperature readings from each of those places? We can measure the temperature of the oceans with satellites, but what do we compare it with? To my knowledge, there wasn't anyone taking precise temperature readings on the oceans and if there were in some places, it sure wasn't a significant coverage. Third, what would we compare this temperature with 200 years ago? Sure there are methods to determine a temperature range that far back and farther, but things like tree rings can't give us an exact temperature. If we are talking about the Earth warming only a degree or 2 in a century, how do we know the first part of the century wasn't unusually cool?
The simple fact is the data is incomplete and there is no scientific consensus. Even if there was, scientific facts can be proven. If a scientist must resort to consensus over proven fact, that should tell you something right there.

While I generally accept that there is a heating trend, the exact causality is not really conclusive. I'm fairly certain that even if human activity is contributing to global warming, many of the factors are part of the Earth's natural cycle. Even if we stop using fossil fuels today, it is probably impossible to reverse the process that has already begun. Chances are very high that we will see the complete melting of the icecaps within this century, and there's nothing we can do about it. That being said, all of the things that they are trying to push with the global warming scare are not bad things. Less pollution, more forests, less dependence on oil are all good things for people and the planet. Global warming? Real. Propaganda? Yes. Hybrid Cars? Still over priced. Will they do any good? Probably not, but they certainly won't make things worse.

I believe in global warming 100%, it is ridiculous to think that all the changes we have made in the environment and all the gases we are pumping out into the atmosphere will have no effect on the planet. If anything a lot of people DONT want us to believe in global warming so that they will continue to prosper in the oil industry. We are definately failing the test because our generation is all about "now" we are selfish and want what we want regardless of consequences to the future. My partner for example wants a fuel guzzling 4wd rather than a small car, he doesn't NEED a huge car for just himself but he WANTS one and is prepared to cause twice the pollution and let our children deal with the consequences. I am doing the best I can to help stop this destruction!

Yeah, I guess sometimes we just have to think "what if the scientists are wrong? What is really happening to our planet?" Well what we do know is that something strange IS happening to our planet. The facts all lead to global warming and so yeah, that is what I believe is happening to Earth.
Tell your brother that it probably isn't a propaganda, but it certainly is helping car industries sell cars! :)

Just the fact that you believe and your brother doesn't should indicate to you that global warming is not scientific, but religious.
No one argues that the sun is 93 million miles from the Earth because you can prove that it is.
You have to believe in global warming because science cannot prove that man is causing any warming or if it is natural.

don't think something you examine and easily one million/2 of what you notice. of direction, worldwide warming is authentic. The final Ice age has long gone away, has it no longer? So, we'd desire to have worldwide warming. Do human beings make contributions to worldwide warming? possibly some small quantity, in spite of each and every little thing we are heat and we breath in oxygen and breath out CO2, we'd desire to affix the project. what's Al Gore going to do approximately it? Kill considered one of those persons? forever that's what Socialists do whilst they take administration of a rustic. Is that extra suitable than destroying their economic device and inflicting hundreds of thousands to starve to loss of life?

i believe in global warming 100% and the only reason some dont believe in it is bc they are so caught up their viral lives to even notice a change...i cant say that the change will happen within the hour...but when you have your grandchildren....lets just say snow will only seem like a myth...it obviuosly takes time for everything to change...but we all need to work together NOW! for the sake of...well everyone, you family in the futer...and everyone else in the world...and anyway whats so bad about saving energy? its not hurting anyone.

Whether global 3warming is happening or not is questionable, this year hasn't exactly been warm has it. What ever is happening, I don't believe man is capable of causing it or stopping it.
