Over rated Nonsense. The earth's climate and temperature is always changing. There has been a short period of warming after several centuries of cooling. This is entirely natural. This slight warming over the last century is NOT the fastest or the most warming the earth has ever experienced, as some global warming fanatics would have you believe. In fact ice core data shows warmer temperatures and faster warming rates over the last 10,000 years or so since the last glacial retreat. See attached links.

Global warming means the growing of temperture on earth. theworld temperature is growing at an alarming rate day after day .the growing of industry, the use of chlorofluoro carbons (cfcs) in packaging and manufacturing commercial products damage wildlife and wilderness this global warming will raise sea level and flood coastal areas and farmland the all country great threat to us we have to become very careful

Global Warming is a very serious problem.
Unfortunately the solution to the problem is not clear cut.
According to the best scientific estimates if we are to have any chance of avoiding the worst sonsequences of Global Warming we must reduce world wide carbon dioxide emissions to less than one tenth of what they are today.
The only way to achieve those kinds of reductions is to either shut down all of the economies of the world or kill 90% of the world population.
Those alternatives are absolutely ridiculous and would make the Killing Fields of Cambodia look like a Sunday School picnic by comparison.
We must accept the fact that Global Warming is the expected consequence of human habitation on this planet and start planning and saving the money that we will need to mitigate the effects of Global Warming when that time comes.
The sea levels will rise. Fortunately coastal areas can be protected from flooding by dike systems similar to those in Holland that hold back the sea.
Hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent. We will need to help the affected countries upgrade their disaster preparedness systems.
Droughts will become more frequent. We will need to help the affected countries with supplemental water supplies and desalination plants.
We cannot stop Global Warming by means that are morally acceptable in a civilized society, however we can mitigate the effects of Global Warming if we start now.

Totally underated for the real seriousness
The greatest changes are happening at microscopic level
invissible as yet
but he effects are already spreading into our dimensions .
People can have no Idea as to what is coming
What we have been allowed to know is just the surface.
as yet beyond our comprehension .
People are very bad calculators
,if it were false ,what is the harm in protecting the Environment ,that supplies us with the conditions we need to survive .
I f it is true ,we cannot do enough to sway events from turning this planet into one mayor castastrophy for all of the surface life .
Who wants to gamble on those odds
better be sorry and maybe safe
than sorry and sorry and dead.

Its very scary to read most of the first answers before we get to Bobs sensibilities,
Almost more scary than Global Warming ,these people should check out this link ,for some hardcore scientific proof of their perceptiveness http://members.shaw.ca/spudnewt/sierranaked.jpg/
sorry i could not resist it

Overrated nonsense...well not completely. Global warming is happening and has been since the Ice Age. It will continue to happen until the earth cycles into another Ice Age. It's all part of the circle of life.

I think that there is a huge industry and millions of dollars on the line to push the current 'global warming' scare. There is incredible pressure to get with the program, and scientists and media people who speak out with a different viewpoint are ridiculed and chastised.
Me..... I don't believe that climate change has been significantly impacted by human beings. The people pushing it have cherrypicked statistics and graphs to create the illusion of a very scary picture.
A lot has been made of carbon dioxide emissions, but here is a big secret that shouldn't be a secret. Carbon Dioxide represents 0.033% of the air. At that tiny percentage, who cares if it goes up by 50% or drops by 50%? Even at that Carbon Dioxide is the 4th largest component of air. But lets put this in a way that we can relate to..... Imagine that the entire atmosphere is a football field. 100 yards.
Nitrogen will take us from one goal line and run us 78 yards toward the other goal. Oxygen will bring us another 21 yards. We are now on the 99th yardline and have only used up 2 eleements. There is 3 feet left - 36 inches.
Argon is next. Of the remaining 36 inches, Argon uses up 33.6 inches.
Carbon Dioxide is next. Out of the entire football field it represents 1.2 inches!
Everything else combined represents less than 1/10th of an inch.
So, why doesn't anyone ever publicize how small the percentage of carbon dioxide is? Because then they wouldn't be able to scare you so much. If they can't scare you how on earth are they going to control you?

It is to early to tell. The fact is the globe appears to be warming about one (1) degree every 100 years and has been for hundreds of years. It also has cooled and warmed many times before. Most all scientists believe this to be true.
We now have some scientists that believe the warming trend this time is faster than before and may go higher than before, and they have developed a theory it is due to CO2 produced by man. We have more and more scientists questioning the data and assumptions made in developing this theory.
Time will tell us more. Nothing is going to change much in the near future. It is stupid to think that we know all the answers now and go crazy with "Chicken Little" ravings.
My answer - It is a serious phenomenon. It may or may not be something we can do something about. It may just be nature doing its thing. I don't think we know yet. We have time. It will not measurably change in our lifetime, but it is important and we need to understand it better for future generations.
By the way. See CO2science.org. The average temperature in the US has not increased in over 30 years based on our major measuring stations??
