Global warming is a big issue. And there is a lot that we can do to prevent further harm, but most of the damage is already done and Irreversible.
When looking at it from an other point of view: when looking to the history of the planet there are constant fluctuations of climate. So you could say we are just having another rise of temperature.
It is possible, but the input from people is undeniable. Looking at the figures of carbon admission and rise in temperature.
Europe is doing a big effort in stopping it, but country's like america, china, japan,… should do more effort!!
And saying: "its not my problem" is stupid, because indeed its not our problem, but what about our kids and there kids and… we are throwing away there future!!! In what kind of an environment will they grow up!?

So what if global warming is real? What is the worst thing that is going to happen? Some coastal cities might be submerged and people have to move?
The fear-mongering is staggering. First we heard that it would cause more hurricanes. Yet the hurricane season this year and last has been very calm. We have always heard that it would cause droughts yet this year we are having unusual floods. Temperatures are cooler this summer and winter (in the Southern Hemisphere).
Here's another question for you. If we are going to have huge problems in the next century due to a warm up of about 1 degree, how come we haven't had huge problems already with about 1 degree of warming in the last century?
Of course, the problem with global warming fear mongering is that no one can verify the alleged consequences. They are all decades away. Computer models are all we have to go by yet computer models can't even predict the weather 2 days from now. As a computer programmer, I can also tell you that you can make a model say anything you want it to say.

There is no doubt that the planet has warmed up over the last 30 years, before that there was about 30 years of global cooling, and before that a period of warming. Man's contribution to the greenhouse effect is less that a tenth of a percent and half of that comes from 6 billion people breathing, so reducing our fossil fuel use will hardly make any difference to the temperature. Environments change, with or without man, the lesson of history is that species adapt or die out.
Greenhouse effect
Water vapour 95%
Trace gasses 2%
CO2 3%
Man contribution to the total CO2 is 3%
So Man's total contribution the greenhouse is 3% of 3% which equals 0.09%
Edited to add
Seeing that the planet has warmed up over the last 30, or so, years does not prove that it is man's activity that has caused it. The sceptics DO NOT claim that there has been no global warming, only that the evidence that it is man's fault is weak and confusing and in some cases even contradicts the basic laws of physics.
The MAN MADE global warming lobby has exaggerated the extent of warming in both absolute terms, by taking measurements on the centre of large cities and assuming that it is the same for the whole region, and in the context of comparison with past temperature variations, by air brushing the medieval warm period out of the picture. They have also exaggerated the role of CO2 and the extent of man's contribution as shown by the CO2 analysis above.

No. Its gonna happen no matter what the mad lefty liberals come up with. All it really means is that we will just need to adapt a little. If people stopped banging on about it we would never really notice it I am sure. Its a natural event so just enjoy the warm weather while it lasts before it goes back the other way.
What really worries me more is how our wonderful government are going to use this issue as a perfect way of hiking taxes again, and again, and again.

They'll trip over the ice before they realize that global warming is what will cause the coming ice age!
I know it won't help much, but I will pray for you!

Global wqarming is a natural occurence, it just gets made a bit worse cause of manmade things. Cities are known to cause hot spots due to absorbtion of heat during the day, etc. A complex problem, but even if mankind does all it can, it may not be enough. In the next 100 years I look at the number of humans dropping, a lot.

The winter was short and warmer than usual and don't even get me startes about summer! it's like 50 degrees celcius and too hot! It's so warm that it even heated up my pool too 90! So please recycle, no pollution and certenly... don't ignore it! If it didn't hit you yet... it's gona either in heat waves or hurricanes!!!

more than likely nothing will be done about global warming because it involves too much money. Countries will not take serious pro-active steps until it is too late. People are too lazy and unconcerned to force serious political action. Major polluting countries will never agree on guidelines.
We are currently entering major extinction event number 7. We may not survive, but the earth will.

When I went through all the answers(23 numbers) I have a gut fyeeling that people do read the writing in the skies but do want to pretend that it is not so. In their eagerness they adopt strange arguments e.g.that this is a myth propogated bnoy alGore but cannot quote a single convincing reason why heo should do so. For all those who keep their eyes open and ears attentiive the dark shadow and the heavy tread of global warming can be clearly seen and heard. But none are more blind and deaf who would rather no see nor hear.

im worried too. and i take action everyday. im soo sick of people saying that its too late and it takes to much to help. it is soooo incredibly easy to help by recycling, purchasing form local farmers. and by doing some things you are actually helping yourself out. by saving energy. you save money. and alot of people decide to pass this up and act like everythings ok. when it actually is not. and im so sick of people who are in denial about global warming !. ... its not happening.blahblahblah. al gore's a joke. blahblahblah. no such thing. ugh. some people need to open their eyes and stfu. i swear once the effect starts showing more and more of global warming and land begins to flood. i will be entertain by the looks on their faces of shock. we all just need to help now and prevent global warming with all we got.
