Global Warming

[Selected]: All categories Environment Global Warming

The Milankovitch cycles can predict future climate patterns over the long term. The changes are gradual, over thousands of years.

Even though the warming in the last couple decades is only by a degree or so, it is still WAY too fast to be accounted for by natural climate patterns alone.

My question is, why on earth does anyone still think the slight warming we have experienced is due to natural weather patterns?

why didn't the "experts" figure it out when they came up with global cooling in the 70's? the samples of the earth are the same. it should show the same temperature patterns now as then.

makes you wanna say HMMMMM.....

He says some of the world's largest carbon polluters are funding a large public misinformation campaign about global warming being a non issue?

Do you believe him?

I am.

I’m willing to bet New York, LA, San Francisco, Washington DC, New Orleans, Heck any of them that Gore is a bag of hot air, how about you?

What’s the worse that could happen, a little water in the streets? Well that would put most of the co2 causing autos out of commission now wouldn’t it? See you get the best of both, less cars, and ocean front brownstones. What more could you want.

That's right, Al Gore, Aug 5 and 6 had the all-time LOWEST maximums since record-keeping began in 1877. Weather predictions based on long-term models indicate more cool weather "over the longer period." But I am sure that this doesn't count as much as someplace that has been warmer than normal does it?

9/9/09 On Sept the 9th at 9 PM to turn your lights off for 9 minutes? To get the governments attention to “take these quacks seriously” You might ask how and why would anyone take someone sitting in the dark seriously? I cant answer that, makes no since to me ether. But they say this will save the world. Have you ever heard of such insanity? How many kids brainwashed by this kind of propaganda will go into life with a doom and gloom outlook due to this kind of insanity? So as an alliterative, I invite you to join with me. Together we can light up the planet so it can be seen from Jupiter. Turn on every light, turn on every a/c unit and open the doors, even crank up the cars and turn the headlights on bright. Will you join with our movement to make these nuts shine in the dark? Together we can make a difference.

Answer me if you will, the first step in working together on ANY of these supposed environmental issues, of GW, Alliterative fuels, conservation or climate change, the first step in my view, is to shut Al Gore up. To remove the moron from all public debates, issues, forums etc. As long as he is the “spokesman” for the green team, I will have no part of it. Zero tolerance of his hypocrisy is my requirement to start the debate. What say you?

Energy Crisis: caused by depleting energy sources (especially OIL - petroleum). Oil is getting more difficult to get out (causing supply shortage), while more countries are consuming more, especially India and China (demand increase).

Side effects: Higher energy prices, inflation, and possible economic collapse (because people can't afford to spend money on other things besides energy and food).

Global Warming: caused by greenhouse gases from fossil fuels and other naturally occuring sources (forest fires, volcanoes, swamps), and non-natural sources (landfills, etc.).

My question is, what is worse? Energy Crisis or Global Warming?

Side effects: rising sea levels, change in weather patterns, increase in diseases, droughts, and possible extinction of species.

Im amazed at the hysteria around co2 emissions.....
im all in favour of cutting pollution of riviers, making air better....
but this freakout in north america is really confusing me.

In the worlds history the climate naturally has quite widely changed, and this is way before industry and the demonized SUV's .Trying to stop it seems to me like trying to stop the earth turning too.

has anyone really looked at history and still thinks that its human co2 and not a natural inevitable cycle?

Every one knows what a steam engine is and how it works. The very same engine can use ammonia as the evaporation medium. When you do this the engine can operate at much lower temperatures than steam. It could extract the heat on the surface of the oceans and dissipate the heat deeper in the ocean. The energy will replace some of the use of fossil fuel. Large amounts of energy can be extracted from the ocean this way Also the cooler water on the surface could control weather patterns if we learned to use this system.
You don’t need to build the solar collector it is already in place. All you need is the generating stations under the ocean in critical places around the world.
This kind of technology has been around for more than 50 years it is nothing new. We have always had the solution before our very eyes.

No matter how good the idea is. If you can not get interest from a capital invester it will never happen.
