One of the last Newsweek cover had exactly this question - Global warming is a hoax? - and it is an ironic one.

It comes clear reading the articles that explain that Exxon - oil producer giant - pays people - scientists, newspersons and opinion leaders - to discredit, distrust, make fun of, to lie about global warming truth.

It is possible that some of them are here, in Answers, for destroying what we are trying to do: making people think with their head. Einstein did not encounter all this denial after the presentation of the relativity theory. And it was just a theory, which had its first empirical proof just years later.

Global warming is true like the second law of thermodynamics.
Everybody but the guys who are TV-shows-addicted knows that all the ice in the planet is melting, huge storms and floodings are hitting, air, sea and soil are spoiling, species are decreasing, famine, desease and unamitarian emergencies are becoming a tragic routine.

But we don't care: we need such Bible like havocs happening to us. We are so close.

Global warming is not a hoax. Anyone who says otherwise has not examined the scientific data, which makes it quite clear that global warming is happening:

It's simply not possible that it's a hoax. That's not how science works. Scientists don't gather together in a dark basement somewhere and collude about what phenomenon they're going to invent this week. They gather data, analyze data, and draw conclusions based on this analysis. If they're found to have falsified data, their reputation is ruined and career is over.

Anyone who thinks global warming is a hoax need to go have a convention with the Area 51 UFO conspiracy theorists.

The problem with the theories that this is a natural cycle is they don't work. The numbers don't come out right.

Theories that say 80-90% of the problem is man made greenhouse gases do work. Here's one example, from the Source below:

I don't believe GW is a hoax, but the fear-mongering, alarmists are blowing this completely out of proportion. In the 70's, these same people were claiming global cooling was taking place and some even suggested spreading soot at the poles to absorb heat with the intent of warming the planet. Great idea? Not so much. That is why many skeptics are so vociferous when hearing the asinine "solutions" for GW. Crap, it can't even be proven yet these holier-than-thou tree huggers are proposing "solutions" that are just as asinine as spreading soot at the poles.

Otherwise politically its a monster because in case of exstensive coastal floods Any Government is impotent to save the people ,mass movements of people are out of the question,there is nowhere to go ,no food or water to feed such an exodus ,and civil strife,conflict will be the result when refugees threaten locals in safer places.

Vast areas of permafrost on the tundras have melted ,so have many glaziers ,parts of the North pole ,and green land (this is ice on the land that will return to the sea affecting sea levels)

The majority of climatologists agree that manmade CO2 is warming the atmosphere. The skeptics with great credentials may be right, though. It is pretty well established that more CO2 will increase the atmosphere temperature.

The hoax part of it is how the leftists have adopted this issue to punish capitalism.
