I do not mean ex husbands...

Now this is really beginning to bug me. I've read a good chunk of the IPCC report, visited lots of sites (pro and con), and generally consider myself well-versed in global warming literature. I've seen hundreds, if not thousands of graphs and charts, and here's a typical one:
http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Image:Climate_Change_Attribution.png
I recognise this from the IPCC report.
Now look at the first graph on the right: 1934 looks to be a good 0.7 degrees cooler than 1998, and yet when the numbers are printed, the two years are reported to be within about 0.02 degrees of each other.... it doesn't matter if you take the "original' or 'corrected' NASA numbers.
How is anyone supposed to make any sense of this if even the facts (in this case, instrumental temperature records) change from one report to another?
Somebody's pulling the wool over our eyes.

Forget the term "global warming" and everything circling it. Do you believe there is a problem with the amount of trash we produce? Do you believe there is a problem with the amount of pollution we produce?

Please follow my rules or you will be ignored (at least by me):
1. No speak of Al Gore.
2. Do not insult others.
3. Please only reply with whether you believe there is a problem; or if you think there is no problem.

So more people are paying attention to global warming. Gore won an Academy Award; people are buying Prius's. All good. Most people in the world could care less.

What earth affecting event needs to occur before everyone on this planet will give up their civil wars and petty squabbles and join together to solve this problem? And when it does, will it be too late to do anything about it?

What would you propose? Remember to take in the considerations of all citizens, from suburban soccer moms to factory workers to coal miners to farmers to urban business men and everyone in between.

Deadly floods in Asia, a cyclone in the Middle ast, tornadoes in Brooklyn, more hurricanes & earthquakes, & extreme temperstures around the world (2.46 degrees F. increase)since January,'07 in Africa, Asia, Europe, & South America. Extreme weather forcasts to continue. What if all the nations only combat climate changes, etc. for their own nation instead of working together for the good of all humankind?

First start off accepting the premise that global warming is happening:

http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/info/warming/

If global warming skeptics/deniers are right, then something other than humans is causing it. They don't have a scientifically valid explanation (it's not the sun, natural cycles, volcanoes, etc.), so the planet is just warming for some inexplicable reason. Since we don't know what's causing the warming, we don't know if it will stop. Therefore:

Scenario 1: There's a 50/50 chance global warming will continue, and we have no control over it.

Now assume that climate scientists are right. Most agree that humans are the primary cause of the current warming and that we still have a chance to avoid the worst effects by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions.

Scenario 2: We have a chance to avoid catastrophic climate change, but we don't appear to have the political will to do it right now.

Which scenario would you prefer?

To those who don't understand why it's a religion, consider the fact that global warming has all the major components of any religion.

1. Sin - global warming enthusiasts claim that we are sinning by driving around gas guzzlers that get 10 miles to the gallon, plus all the other ways that we are supposedly contributing to man made global warming.

2. Redemption - Global warming enthusiasts claim that we can redeem ourselves by driving hybrids, using solar power, and reducing ourselves to two sheets of toilet paper per visit to the restroom.

3. Revelation - They claim that if we don't change our ways that we will be living in an inferno and man kind will be doomed.

4. Profits - People like Al Gore who claim to know what will happen in the future.

5. most importantly..... FAITH - The global warming enthusiasts are riding on nothing but faith that these lifestyle changes will bring the earth back to its natural and pristine state, much like the Garden of Eden

A) Global warming SKEPTICS get their way, we do nothing and it turns out they were wrong?

B) Global warming THEORISTS get their way, we take action and it turns out they were wrong?

Which would be the worse of the two possible outcomes?

We are being taxed for everything else Co2 related, why not tax us on the air we breath?

In fact why don't we wipe out the human population in the southern-hemisphere to help reduce Co2 emisions?

Sound silly, well it's as silly as saying we should all go nuclear (except for the developing nations who we won't allow!)

Thus my point, if going Nuke is the way forward, why are we stopping developing nations from carrying out research and implimentation of this technology?

No sympathy wanted just your opinion.
I recently lost my father and when it came to organising the funeral i was told that he could not wear anything to be cremated. All i wanted him to wear was his favourite suit. Instead the wrapped him in a shroud. They said that this was because the creamatoriums no longer thought that the burning of clothes or anything else in with the body was good for the enviroment. They are burning a body for goodness sake. Is that not worse for the environment than clothes which we burn on guy fawkes night anyway when we dress the guy.
What is the world coming to??
