The bottom line is "Global Warming" is a theory and nothing more. A political ploy that helps lawyers and politics better them selves by suing big company's all over the world. Whether it's making a name for themselves or feeling their pockets growing it's one or the other. The polar ice cap meltings you always hear about are a joke. The ROSS ICE SHELF (in ANTARCTICA) is depleting, but Antarctica as a whole grows every year and has for many years. Their have been many scientist's that go either one way or another. But the fact of the matter is their just isn't enough evidence to prove or disprove "Global Warming" on all fronts as a whole. The records we use are from NASA and NASA has only been around for so long. Not to mention the method's we use have only been accurate since the 1970's. They go back as far as the 1880's but the way they did it more then likely is inaccurate. They would go outside and check the thermometer. Who's to say they didn't skip a day or a week to get the year by year reading's. Also If you read the book STATE OF FEAR by Michael Crichton you will see what I mean, he doesn't tell people what to believe in the book he merely shows the REAL evidence and lets the reader decide for themselves. Ultimately If the world is over 4 billions years old then 30 years of statistics do not hold validity in a world of technology and a greedy self indulged human society..

There are several people who do not believe that global warming is taking place. Even if the average temperature of the Earth is increasing, people cannot definitively prove that the increase is caused by man or that it is part of a natural cycle. Think about the large scale effects that global warming could have on the world. Some people believe it can end the world and, obviously, want to do something about it. If global warming were to influence environmental laws, many large economic changes could result (no/less burning of coal or oil, certain products would have to be re-modeled or no longer produced, big changes for power plants). Some people think such changes aren't necessary. Don't forget about Al Gore's impact on the issue. I know that many people (especially science oriented people) don't consider it much, but it only takes someone like Gore mentioning global warming to introduce politics to an already controversial issue. As long as the issue is controversial, I think a lot of people will take the side of whatever aspect of global warming is currently most relevant to them. Scientists are working hard to give us an explanation though (I think).

Temperature changes have always occurred. No one could possibly feel a 0.1 degree global change in temperature.
If global warming was real, everyone would be in favor of the only solution available - nuclear power. The proponents unwillingness to promote nuclear shows that they are not serious and that there is an alternative agenda.

Thje whole global warming idea came from the environmental groups as a easy way to raise money for their pet projects like closing sawmills and putting loggers out of work. They use scare tactics and try to cite facts -but there aren't any- to scare people into donating to their causes.

I can remember when we had winters when it snowed in Nov. and we didn't see the grass again until April. It has been very hot this summer. I've seen many changes. I do think there is something to this global warming. I have exchanged all of my light bulbs to florescent ones. I am using cloth tote bags grocery shopping.

Many are conservatives who take their ideology to extreme lengths. If liberals or environmentalists say something, it must be wrong. No matter that 99+% of scientists are saying the same thing. Proof:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_opinion_on_climate_change
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/306/5702/1686
They might do well listen to Newt and the National Review:
"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"
"National Review published a cover story this past week calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"

Don't sweat it. I get them for posting facts, instead of personal opinion.

Yes it is warming. About 0.2 C last time I read the reports. It should cycle up for a while then cycle back down. We have other natural events that should worry us more. Since these are natural events, wouldn't it make sense to put this effort into finding a way to survive these events?

For all you other "believers" out there, have ya'll ever noticed how people can't disprove that global warming is a problem? They only blame it on "earth's cycles" and Al Gore!

In the US, the global warming denier movement is almost entirely linked to the oil and coal industry, especially ExxonMobil.
The denier movement in the US consists almost entirely of right wing idealogs who get their information from talking heads like Rush Limbaugh (who by the way does not even have a college degree) and fradulent internet sites funded by the oil and coal industry like these Exxon funded sites and institutions:

Most are simply ignorant in the field of science and since the media has incorrectly labeled global warming as a scientific debate, the movement continues.

I don't believe in it. Belief is a function of faith and anthropogenic global warming is not faith.
I agree with the majority of scientists that global warming is happening and that human actions are one of the components leading to that warming.
