Good morning Andrew....Unfortunately Global Warming does exist and it's going to get worse according to the scientists. I had just recently heard on the news that the warming of the polar ice caps is definitely getting worse to where the animals that reside at this region may not have a home soon such as your polar bears, penguins and such. Then we have these terrible storms that brew in the Atlantic Ocean and cause Hurricanes that harm various countries in their path of destruction. And of course the Pacific ocean as well. Hawaii is being prepared now for a hurricane that's headed her way if it's not there already.I don't know about the other countries concerning this unusual weather, but here in the states it's been ridiculous. I can't remember a year in which it's been so HOT! California is experiencing a terrible drought along with other states. The fires that are occurring are devastating and has caused so much damage to homes as well as wildlife. The severe storms that have been occurring across the states to where some states have been experiencing flooding throughout. If this isn't Global Warming, what else could it be? Have a great day!

Ok so we are supposed to be scared of warming but then when it does not warm for 10 years we can't point out oddly cold portions. But when some place has a 110 temp in summer it is an emergency. Then when it is oddly cold in the northern hemisphere for a whole winter it is just an oddity in a hot world ?? But wait Mars had a warming trend the same time we did. Did the Martians use too much carbon based fuel too at the same time. Wait there is no sign of SUVs on mars or Coal power plants or any non-natural activity but still they warm in a man made way too (or martian if you will). Wait could it be the sun doing it nope there is no political gain there. It has to be the un-washed masses. So no THE PLANET DOESN'T HAVE A FEVER maybe the sun does call the sol-doc we have or had in the 90's a sol fever. Help doc my 3rd rock thinks it is killing itself and all it is is indigestion I belched out a flare and they freaked out what do I do.

The climate changes all by itself. During the time of the Romans there was a very warm period much like the one we are having now. There was also a very warm climate in medieval times about a thousand years ago, when they had wine vineyards in northern Europe. There was also the little ice age that was just over one hundred years ago that froze rivers over, that normally do not.

The hurricanes that we have experienced in the past few years are mild compared to other times in the past 300 years. See link below.

For the person that mentioned tsunamis, tsunamis are caused by underwater Earth quakes or massive land slides. They have nothing to do with global warming.

Rosaliepedler: They are called El Nino, and La Nina, if you wanted to research them further.

Asker: Of course GW exists. I think that even most AGW skeptics agree on that. What is in question is its cause, and how they explain the temperature rise with only natural factors, when the solar radiation variations are clearly not enough. I don't think you can get a clear answer on that, since they already know that natural sources isn't the explanation.

The main point is: no one is disputing that the climate can change by itself. Its just that the conditions aren't there for it right now. The solar radiation is even in slight decline over the last 30 years. What sources do they have when anthropogenic actors, and solar radiation are taken out? There are none left that can explain the seen changes, its as simple as that.

anders pointed out that solar radiation has decreased in the last 30 years. but the sun is not the only source of cosmic radiation. the super massive black hole at the center of our galaxy has started feeding again, well it did about 75000 years ago, so we have that source. we also have hyper-novas that blast radiation in our direction. in fact if a hyper-nova went off with 1000 light years of earth, this planet would be incinerated. by the way mars is also warming. how can this be? man isnt there, so we are not causing it. science cannot definitively say what is or is not causing global warming, and until it can, we have to measure what we do to avoid the law of unintended consequences kicking in.

To be sure, humanities contribution hasn't helped any and what it appears to have done was to accellerate or kick started what would normally be a cyclical progression of change.
Man has gone and thrown everything out of balance and started an unstopable cycle of which nature will resolve the problem as in the past by eliminating the problem...man.

I finished school four years ago, but i remember my geography teacher explaining two phenomenon that could answer your question.
The first is ilnino and the second ilnina. They are strange weather patterns that can be set off by an unbalanced climate, an example could be a heat wave in England where it mostly rains, while in Africa it could snow.
They are counter parts to each other, while one is happening in one hemisphere the other is happening in the other.
I hope i remembered correctly and that this helps.
I suggest that you research the two terms ilnino and ilnina just to get the specifics.

Global Warming does exist, ever heard of the little ice age? Its inevitable, Its will happen, regardless if there are people on earth. The only thing we do is speed it up.

It does exist, and the sad thing is our (Bush led) government is not doing anything about. It may not be reversable but there are millions of countermeasures that we could put in place to slow it down. I feel sorry for our grandchildren.

Not just the summers and winters, but look what's happening to the ice in the Arctic. Polar bears are actually drowning because they have less icebergs to stop over on during their long swims.
