I work for an engineering company. Many of the people around me are "very intelligent", yet they can't seem to figure out that the "Mixed Paper" recycling bin is not for cans, plastic wrap, banana peels, etc. The stupid thing is that the plastic, aluminum and regular garbage bins are RIGHT NEXT TO the mixed paper recycling bin.

If intelligent people can't recognize paper from non-paper, what hope do we have as a society of fixing other problems?

Also, are you aware that any electric vehicle (especially ebikes and electric scooters) can be easily charged from any electric outlet? Example: We have a 150' extension cord that we plug in everywhere, in schools, friends' homes, parks, and while shopping. This "opportunity charging" extends the practical range of our electric pickup truck to almost double, without having to lug around heavy batteries.

Would you buy a similar vehicle? A simple yes/no and your city/country would suffice.

Did you also know that in BC, Canada, some 80% of all electric vehicles are just rusting in fields or storage, unused, for a variety of reasons -- that we have figured out how to fix?

If this planet's climate is in deep trouble from fossil-fuels, is "cost" even an issue, in your mind?

Thanks for answering these survey questions!

According to NASA we're in a period of unusually low sunspot activity that'll be at it's worst end of 2007, start of 2008, historically associated with very cold periods for us. Plus below are two examples of articles r.e. a serious slow in the warming ocean current, that scientists seem very concerned about. Please read them before answering if poss.

It seems as though several factors we're experiencing now have also been recorded together in history, and when they happen it plunges the UK into a mini Ice Age, like when the Thames used to freeze over. So what do you think... after our "summer without a summer" in the UK are we headed for 1-2 years of very cold hard times?

p.s. Scientists have been warning about this since the 1970s until 'Global Warming' shut them up.

THE ARTICLE LINKS ARE BELOW...

On a regular basis, anthropogenic global warming skeptics wonder how folks like soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore and his band of not so merry climate change sycophants can so easily get seemingly intelligent people to buy their junk science hook, line, and sinker.

With this in mind, the comedy duo of Penn and Teller set out to see whether they could get people at an Earth Day rally called "WorldFest" to sign a petition banning water.

For those unfamiliar, this was the "6th Annual WorldFest, a solar-powered celebration of music, the environment, animals, health and social consciousness" held at Woodley Park in Encino, California, April 2006.

I recently joined and have really liked being able to get rid of extra stuff that I don't need without throwing it away. For example, last night someone came and took away boxes I had leftover from moving.

Have you ever used freecycle? What was your impression of it? Did you have a good or bad experience?

Since global warming has melted massive areas of the polar icecaps, can the previously vast frozen plains ever be restored or are they irreparably melted until the next ice age?

I don't think global warming is mainly caused by us.In the summers of 1236 and 1241 it was so hot and dry the cattle died of thirst. In 1237 were two hurricans that blew down houses and in 1238 twenty ships were sunk in portsmouth.Between 1315–1317 there was great Famine and Around 1650 there was a mini ice age.How did we cause that?

For example, I drive approximately 10,000 miles a year but do not fly anywhere. Somebody I know does not drive anywhere but takes about three short haul (2-3 hour) flights a year + the return journey, so effectively 6 flights. Who leaves the greater carbon footprint?

One day a girl brings home her boyfriend and tells her father she wants to marry him. After talking to him for while, he tells his daughter she can't do it because he's her half brother. The same problem happens again four more times! The girl starts to get pissed off. She goes to her mom and says, "Mom... What have you been doing all your life? Dad's been going around laying every maiden in the town and now I can't marry any of the five guys I like because they have turned out to be my half brothers!!!"

Her mom replies, "Don't worry darling, you can marry any one of them you want, he isn't really your dad."

Quit acting like they are in all global warming arguments gore comes up. Gore flies in a plane Gore is a retard. Believe that if you want to but quit acting like dissing somebody who is putting the truth out there is a valid argument! Try some scientific conclusions that disprove it or something more convincing than pretending everyone who believes in global warming worships Al Gore and you can change their mind by saying he is stupid. Most people who care about global warming don't care about gore at all

you simply cannot buy flood insurance anymore in some places that haven't flooded. was your home damaged due to flooding or heavy rain - settling your claim might depend on the distinction?

insurance companies have been paying (and denying) claims forever, but since the occurrences of hurricanes katrina and rita in the states, and historic flooding in britain, they HAVE to be reconsidering their options.

i'm curious to hear how your insurance company has changed your coverage (if at all) due to potentially devastating weather conditions where you live. if you're in the insurance business, all the better: how are you adjusting your practices (if at all) to deal with this 'new' reality?
