Describe your system and architecture. How do you COOL your house? My biggest concern is how to cool a home off the grid.

Notice I said OFF THE GRID meaning you don't pay someone else for electricity. Yes I know that a ceiling fan doesn't cut it. My northern metabolism has never adjusted to the summers here.

If you're talking about the southeast USA I know a ceiling fan isn't going to cut it. Try using those small room-sized air conditioners, then you can just cool the room you're currently in. They're very cheap to run.
