u know when u get a glass in water and then turn it upside down. then all the water is kept in by this vacum.....well in theory we could do this on a bigger scale and do it numerous times in different places all over the world and in effect water levals would drop! only problem is lifting that kinda weight. other than that it should work..right?

Thank goodness for that. A victory of common sense over blind stupidity.
If they want to protest let them organise a march or something not this continues camp just to annoy people and get on everybody’s nerves in the hope to delay them.

Do you support all of this nonsense?

Now, although this Global Warming thingy is complicated & it seems an army of scientists/politicians/hippies are queuing up to tell me completely different things, its pretty obvious that between animals going extinct, deforestation and floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, melting icecaps etc that are happening, there’s is probably a problem and because we're all idiots, like pools of vomit around a grinning drunk its not hard to allocate blame.

So, what I want to know is, even if we suddenly stopped being the weight on the environment we are, is it too late? are we too far gone? Extinct animals aint coming back, the forests we are all living on cant return without us all going... There’s too many of us, we need to eat, we need homes and we need fuel (and PS3s).

So, even if we could change overnight, is it too late? Is the planet screwed? Is it time to get off this rock and see if we can't find something in space to make some money from, like Lost in Space but with swearing and nudity?

The sun puts out enough energy in a day(week), I've read both, NY Times said everyday, to supply the current power needed to power our world. Thats an infinite amount of power. We can even use that power to travel through space. Plus everybody could have their own power plant on their house, or car??!! Come on people its simple. Dark=evil=oil, Light=Heaven=sun!!
Why not... cost...??? Oil companies have billions of dollars, make them pay for it! I know it isn't that simple, but I wish it was...

Driving through the streets the other night, I couldn't help but notice the amount of street lights that were just not necessary. It's not rocket science and imagine the power that could be saved etc if this was done nationally.

Or do "FACTS" hurt you like Cryptonite?

Here is something to consider:

And here are the NUMBERS behind Earth's Greenhous Effect:

Read. Learn. Think for yourself. And stop letting Gore's long winded, disproportionately extended segment on KATRINA VICTIMS (???) in his "documentary" on Global Warming brainwash you!!!

Consider the fact that the Earth has witnessed eleven glacial events, followed by warmer periods in the last 2-3 million years, and that we may now be in an interglacial (ie warm spot) period before the current ice age we are traversing, cranks in big time again. To the best of my recollection there hasn't been as much as one Hummer H2 on the Earth contributing to the temperature fluctuations that have occurred in the past.

I have had the desire to start a recycling program in my school for a few years now. I recently contacted a bussiness that sent me information on grant money and a teacher at my school who had intrest in the program, but dropped it. The condition are extremely hard to understand and very demanding. I was wondering if there is an eaiser way to do this. All I want to do is help my school, no go through all this and have the possibility of not getting the grant money. Thanks!!

Just more of our "jackbooted" way of looking at things. I've heard it said over and over and over and over and over on here that Al Gore came up with the whole thing. Now Global Warming was discussed in my science classes back in the 60's along with gravity, genetics, and other things. Al Gore was a Junior when I was a Senior. So is it that he was this unusually influential teenager, or is there a time machine involved somewhere, or how exactly do you come up with that?

Historically, all the dark periods (for us humans) in recorded history are associated with colder global tempatures (i.e. dark ages, muander minimum, the plague).

All of the warmer periods are associated with human advancment and prosperity.

I am against clearing anymore land for reasons of the enviroment.
These places in long term will gain more jobs through eco-tourism than logging. What are your views.

If you do not believe global warming is a threat have you ever looked for truth?

Go to any search engine that you wish. Start with Yahoo since that is where you are.
Search for ice shelf starting with the year 1995 then keep increasing the year: you will see that new information keep coming out every couple of months some is about old events. Eventually you will discover that the information stops during the year 2004 there is some info from 2005 and 6 but it is reduced to very benign displays. I will tell you that many of the sites that were there that had more information started disappearing about 2004
Ice shelf 1995
Ice shelf 2000
Ice shelf 2002
There are still a few sites that come up on Widow.com that when you try to go there it has been removed.
One of these sites was cut off in mid sentence.
I have since found a few places with more recent information :
http://nsidc.org/research/projects.html on the left side of the page is more recent info.
