Hi!
You went the right route asking a teacher for help. If he/she backed out, it may have been because of the mountain of paperwork, or maybe the teacher had something come up.
Approach the teacher again. If that doesn't work, approach another teacher, the principal, or a custodian! The custodians are often very knowledgable about these things and may be one of your biggest assetts!
Keep trying and don't give up until you have a program in place. It may require you taking some trips to the recycling bins yourself for a while (are your parents supportive?) but someone at school will notice if that is happening and you may find support where you didn't even think to look!
Did you think of starting an environmental awareness club or something? There may be others out there who have similar ideas but didn't know what to do either.
Keep up the good work, and don't stop until you get that recycling working!

recycling at a school can be difficult depending on your school. if it's a Wichita school, the principal or a teacher (with principal's permission) must contact the district's environmental services for approval. once they get the "ok", the teacher or principal should contact Weyerhaueser. at our school (and many others) in the district, we have a Weyerhaueser paper recycling bin near the building. teachers are aware of it and have their paper put in once a week. When the bin is full, the teacher (me) calls Weyerhaueser to have it emptied.
Weyerhaueser's deal is - if we recycling so many tons of paper (can't remember the amount right now) by the end of the school year - no charge. If not - it costs $100. this money can easily be raised by a fundraiser such as a bake sale.
good luck and don't give up!
we went without a bin for awhile and rallied together 3 teachers who would collect paper and cans from all the classrooms and we drove it to be recycled ourselves.

communities exist already for the two endeavors, and actually the two possible swallow up for all time you could concentration on the two one. it could be greater useful with an universal greater useful result to concentration on one area. while you could rather help an animal making use of recycling as an undertaking to enhance funds for the preserve, in basic terms observe that some issues it incredibly is incredibly useful to hold jointly haven't any resale marketability. as an occasion, whilst many digital products have supplies which would be recycled for funds, there are some issues like the CRT's from TVs and video show gadgets that have not got any resale and could rather value you funds to eliminate, alongside with the plastic in case you do not have a close-by customer for the taken care of plastic. So use care in picking what products you will recycle and study what would properly be recycled for earnings the previous you start up off.

Go to your principal or even the school board if you do not have a cooperative principal and present a business plan to them. Simply put....What are you going to collect, how are you going to collect, and who will recieve the collected material. If your school sells canned drinks, that would be a great place to start, along with PAPER. Paper would probably be your largest commodity to recycle. Dont be afraid of failure, because if you dont do anything, that would be the failure. Go for it, dont give up. Good luck in this fantastic endeavor. ke

Depends on what you are trying to recycle, if its organic waste you can easily create a compost pit or get a biogas plant, this will provide for the schools energy needs too.
You can ask the school kids to build a biogas plant as a project its not that difficult.

Start an ecology club in your school first. If you get other kids and adults involved, it will be easier to get recycling to occur. Try to find out if anybody recycles near you and your school and where they send their recycling. Then contact the place and see if they will pick up the school's recycling.

i think you should present your idea to the administrators . You should tell them the benefits of recycling things like its good for our planet, more money for the school etc..
