I have enjoyed Freecycle immensely. I have Received things and I have Offerered things.I inherited my parents home and there were many things hard to part with for sentimental value. But with Freecycle I knew they could have a new life with someone who would really be able to use these items. Sometimes when you get a new group of people, they don't understand the true spirit of the group, but eventually they catch on or leave.
To get the most of your Freescycle experience: Read the new member emails regarding Netiquette and Freecycle rules. Don't be greedy. And I personally hate the term
"Up for grabs"

I live in Toronto and have gotten some really unique things I could NEVER have gotten without Freecycle! I've gotten crutches, an antique mailbox, a rock-tumbler, a mini-fridge and tap shoes!
Also, if I have something to give away, like frames for paintings or carpets or a toaster oven, I just leave it on the curb and advertise on http://www.freecycle.org for someone to come get it if they like. It always disappears, taken by someone who could use it better than I.
I've known people who needed beds, sofas, kitchen tables, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, TV's, clothes and even digital cameras be helped by Freecycle. It's an idea that should win a Nobel Prize!

Hey, I liked it so much I volunteered to become a moderator!
It has been a great resource for me. My packrat ex husband left piles of stuff behind, much happily rehomed via Freecycle. I've also gotten some stuff for my home, and for the local schools and Girl Scouts.
It is a great idea, and I enjoy being part of it.

Excellent, I help maintain a Computer Lab in a Seniors Centre and have picked up some computers, and monitors and parts to keep them running.
I am also one of the moderators of the freecycle in my area.
