I wondered this, so I looked it up.
Now, you’d expect that the money would be put towards combating “catastrophic” global warming. You’d expect that, but you’d be wrong. It’s actually going to be spent on yet more propaganda to get more people onto the global warming bandwagon, so that the next money making scheme will make even more money, so that they can spend even more on propaganda, etc, etc, ad infinitum.
So, it’s all about making money and will not actually do anything to prevent global warming whatsoever.
Why am I not surprised?
As ever with global warming - don't believe the hype.

You can bet that Gore got a sizeable cut from Live Earth. The organization that he founded and of which he is the Chairman of the Board had a big part in the organization of Live Earth. Did you check the ticket prices? They weren't just giving those tickets away!! Gore will probably have a lot of "necessary expenditures" that will be expensed out through SOS.

I agree with Thor! I think they have a sexual attraction to the guy! It's just his rugged good looks! What else could explain it?
As for the money, he'll probably apply it to his kids legal bills for their drug busts. When one of them got caught with dope in High School and the Principal suspended him, Gore used his influence as Vice President to get the principal fired and his kid reinstated.

Al gore is not live earth, nor is he SOS, the organization behind the events. Al Gore is a spokesman, star power actually, and he is paid for his speeches, appearances etc.
So I guess my answer is he will do with his paycheck what we all do. Pay the mortgage, promote ourselves, hire lawyers for our dumb kids, promote ourselves, . Hire private fuel drinking planes, promote ourselves, and be chauffeured around in dark glassed SUVs.
