I mean, listen to these lyrics.

Welcome To My Life:
Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you
Do you ever wanna runaway?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming
No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me
To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life

I have just about every CD from some of the best bands of the Eighties and I'm looking to build my collection to where I have the best ever.
Not counting OMD, Depeche Mode, Yaz, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, ABC, Dead Or Alive. What is the best group that uses synthesizers as there main instruments?

As someone who loves the music ABBA, I'm just wondering what other ABBA fans thought of their bizarre dance moves?

By dance moves, I mean the way Agnetha (the blonde) and Frida (the redhead) would sometimes stand back to back, turn their heads with hair flips, or stand in profile to each other...all the while singing with blank expressions on their faces?

Truthfully, I found it unintentionally hilarious!

I really like Curve and the remixes of their songs, especially 'Horror Head' and 'Chinese Burn'. Can you think of any bands similar to them I might like? I love anything electronic.

It's no secret that quite a few musicians got the chance to put out an album or got themselves on a stage because of someone they knew that was well-liked and/or well-established in the business - a parent, child, friend, spouse, former roommate...whatever. It happens all the time, and I think people hardly blink at it any more. In fact, I think we almost expect it.

So what do you think are the most positive and negative examples of this in music? Who do you think has taken their own opportunity and done great things with it, and who has completely struck out at the plate and will probably never be heard from again?

And let's be realistic, too :)

Consider some bands of your favorite rock genre (with similar chemistry) that are actually touring right now (or are planning to tour), and consider which ones you would like to open the show, and which two you'd pick as the headliners :)

Some of their later stuff is cool too( "New Improved" is really good in my opinion, but obviously a very different style), but the first two have to be the best for me...

You never have to skip over any tracks.

For me it would be "Plagues" by The Devil Wears Prada

I was just reading this story about Steve Burns, the former host of "Blue's Clues", who recorded an album with some of the members of The Flaming Lips:

http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1573406&vid=186346

Now plenty of established musicians have made appearances on kids shows (there have been a ton on Sesame Street) but they were able to return to the careers in music that they already had. Besides being in some bands while growing up Steve didn't have much of a musical history, so do you think he will be able to erase the image of the striped rugby shirt and be accepted in the rock community?

I was born in the wrong decade. I hate new rock with a fiery passion. I'm 21 and I love the old 60s-80s era rock. But I'm limited as to what songs and bands I hear on the radio. And although I like the Top 40 old songs of the day, what are some good, old, kicking rock tunes that not everyone knows about?

I'm 16 and instead of alternative, modern, pop or rock music, I like oldies like Sinatra, jazz, blues and bossa nova. Is there something wrong with that? I feel like i'm an old soul. I like really old movies like those of Audrey hepburn. What's funny is that i belong to a clique that listens to MCR and other punk rock bands. I appreciate this music as well but i just like old music better. I'm a singer and i can only sing oldies and mellow music. I cant sing modern. Am i weird?

I used to love Backstreet Boys. Then I got into Eminem, then Mozart, then Tom Petty, then Radiohead, then Nine Inch Nails, then Disturbed, then The Shins, then Pink Floyd, then Porcupine Tree and now to what I listen to today.

I've had the same stereo since I was 8, the thing has seen it all.

How have your music taste evolved?
