I'm talking about songs that that make men feel inadequate, women and children cower, dogs wimper and everyone to automatically envy the person singing because we all know we'll never be as badass as him.

I'll say "Sonic Reducer" by the Dead Boys in which Stiv Bators makes it blisteringly obvious that he is the king of all badasses that rules over his badass kingdom with an iron fist.

And my second choice would be "Search & Destroy" by Iggy & The Stooges. Now there aren't any good videos of the Stooges together doing this song, but there is a video of the laready established badasses The Dead Boys covering it, so to make the point even clearer here it is:

I'm looking for any time of Christmas-related rock songs. They can be rock-versions of classic Christmas songs or completely different. Does anyone know any?

I'm not. I know of no rock bands from my borough whatsoever. You have to venture out of my bit of London if you want to find some. This makes the following video, my borough's biggest contribution to music:

..learned lessons from the stars of the 60s & 70s about drug use?

We know some still use them, but we're hearing for far fewer deaths. Today, the real public messes seem to be the Lindsey Lohans & Paris Hiltons as opposed to actual rock stars.

What are some good rock/metal bands with black vocals? The only good band that I know is Sevendust... But Killswitch Engage sucks just because of the vocals.

Also, is anyone sick of hearing the same old muddy Nirvana songs on the radio. Come on, "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Lithium"? Yawn...

I know I am gonna get a lot of flack for this, but I don't much care about that. I am just so tired of people saying Nevermind was the best album of the 90's when there so many other albums released the YEAR it came out that were better. Oooops

I'm not in a good place to answer this one because I haven't gotten to many solo careers by even my heroes because I have so much damned music to buy, so expect to see this question again in a few years.

But, from what I do know, I think the best moments of Iggy Pop's solo career (first two albums mainly) are high points for anyone's career. I mean if the Stooges never existed (the world would suck) then I'd still love Iggy Pop based on these. Hell, if the only thing he ever did was release the song "The Passenger" b-side "Some Weird Sin" he'd still be a favorite!

Other greats: Johnny Thunders, Roky Erickson (what an awesome guy), Lou Reed, Joe Strummer (love the Mescaleros and Joe's new voice), John Cale (what I've heard), Van Morrison (everyone seems to forget he came from the excellent Irish garage rock band Them), Lemmy if you count him forming Motorhead after leaving Hawkwind, and Alice Cooper (after leaving the band Alice Cooper).

I actually stumbled across Nouvelle Vague when their self titled album released in 2004 and was compelled to check them out. I have since been a pretty devoted listener.

I still think their cover of "This is Not a Love Song" by PIL is my favorite...
What covers do you enjoy?
