...ouch. This is a painful decision.

Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy.

You REALLY can't argue it...the only thing that made me hesitate was Queen's Greatest Hits...and I think everyone has ruled that out as an option (it IS unfair, really)...

What I've realized in typing this is that Houses of the Holy is the quality of a greatest hits album without actually being one. There is something amazing, unique and memorable about each and every song, whether you're rocking to "Dancing Days" or "The Ocean", reflecting on "Over the Hills and Far Away" or vegging to "No Quarter", there really isn't a bad turn on the entire album.

Queen is great, and though I haven't a bad thing to say about them overall, some of their songs weren't of the same quality as their hits.

Ride the Lightning was fantastic, granted, but doesn't compare in the light of versatility and range.

Journey's Evolution wasn't the greatest, by a long shot...though it was good in and of itself...

You could do a LOT better than Mob Rules for Black Sabbath, in my opinion.

So....HOUSES OF THE HOLY!

Led Zeppelin, House of the Holy!
Only 'cause Queens greatest is a close second,
Metallica's best was Kill 'em All,
Sabbath has to be with Ozzy,
and Neal Schon is no Jimmy Page.

Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy.

While I am a huge fan of Queen, I don't consider any sort of Greatest Hits or Live collection to be a real album. Edit: I see that Tara feels the same way.

House of The Holy.

Then Ride the Lightning.

And then Mob Rules.

The other two I don't care much about, but I guess Queen is at fourth place for me.
