Went to see them at Meadowbank Stadium last week. They were so so good and I want to see them again.
DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THEM IN EDINBURGH?

For me: Favorite bands is the Beatles, favorite songs is too hard for me to pick, myfavorite genre of music is rock and my least favorite is rap.

My favourite band is Guns N' Roses and the song that got me into them was "Sweet Child O' Mine" [surprise, surprise].
Probably the most obvious GN'R song, but i remember hearing it for the first time and thinking... they're something special. The guitar solo blew me away.
And it went on from there.

What song got /you/ into your favourite band?
What was it about the song? e.g singers voice, lyrics, guitar solo, bass line etc.

I'm curious as to the average amount of albums metal fans have. So about how many metal only records/cds/tapes do you own -do not include rock, emo, punk, or any other genre please.

And roughly how many do you purchase on a monthly basis?

At the moment I own only about 2500 metal albums (this is actually not that many compared to some metal fans).

"emo", "rock", "pop", "rap", "alternative", "pop punk", "classic rock", "goth", etc etc....

There's always debate on whether or not using labels to describe music is good or not.

I happen to be in the "It's Good" camp.

I think there's no escaping them. As Americans, we tend to love labeling. Part of our nature, generally.

Some argue that music labeling is bad because it may bias the listener(?) That's a guess, actually. If it's something else, tell us what it rreally is.

I think it's good because it gives the listener, esp. a newbie to a genre an *idea* what they're in for. Also, if someone is looking for a specific sound, a label works FAR better than asking for "good music".

What sayeth ye? :)
