I listen to heavy metal a lot. but the sub-genre that i really love is Heavy Metal. This is where Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, KISS and etc. reside. then some earlier metal gods like Led Zeppelin, who were claimed by many as the band that put heavy in heavy metal. then of course, the first metal song Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf, this is where you can hear first time in a song the phrase "heavy metal". (I like smoke and lightning, heavy metal thunder, rushing with the wind and the feeling that i'm under...) of course, who could forget the first doom & gloom/heavy/ goth band Black Sabbath? And of course, there's thrash metal and the Almighty Slayer just kicks @ss! too bad, tom is deciding to retire, by the way. hope this answers your question.

I like Grunge. If you could really call that metal. Thrash, Metallica, ETC. and Doom metal, The Melvins.

I love metal. The sub-genres of metal that I prefer are thrash, death, melodic death, gothic, stoner, black, and most of all Doom metal.
