Does anyone really need to see this? Page and Plant did something together about 13 years ago and Robert Plant's voice was totally roached back then. I think it would sound like crap and I really wouldn't be interested in seeing this. Does anyone else agree?

I know Pink Floyd's Animals was based on the book Animal Farm by George Orwell. I've heard that the song Ramble On by Led Zepplin was based on The Hobbit. What are some others???

(I like to listen to music while I read and it is fun to listen to songs that relate to the book I am reading.)

I never considered bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Rush, Black Sabbath or Blue Oyster Cult to be metal, but it seems like many people do. To me, metal is Metallica, Megadeth, Dream Theater and Opeth.
Is it just me?
What do you consider metal?

any fans? i recently bought the ultimate collection by them, really only knowing maybe 5 or 6 songs by them.. and fell in love with every song on it, i think although they are known to mostly every rock fan, they are definitely under rated, they have amazing songs, and really should be right up there with zeppelin and the beatles

In rock history?
you've got the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's(or present), to choose from.. which era was most innovative, had the greatest bands in you're opinion?

Although there are artists I like from every era, I think my favorite would have to be the 70's...

Do you think they'll be any good? Do you think the gig will be worth it? Do you think tickets will be easily available at a price that's right?

I have my niggling doubts about this. I know it's all about the cash but I dunno...

They released many great albums. I still have a soft spot for the Michael Schenker era album 'Lonesome Crow', one of my favorites!
Then Uli Roth was fantastic also. 'Fly to the Rainbow', 'Intrance', 'Virgin Killer', 'Taken by Force' and the live album 'The Tokyo Tapes' are all classics as well.
The Matthius Jabbs phase was my least favorite, with the exception of 'Love Drive' of course because Michael Schenker guested and played on a couple tracks. Parts of 'Animal Magnetism' and 'Blackout' were OK I suppose also.
After that I really lost interest, and 'Love at First Sting' put the nail in the coffin for me. I never got into that whole 80's MTV hair metal scene. I guess they sold out, and in the process gained some new fans, and lost a few too!
What was your favorite album? And who was your favorite lead guitarist from this ledgenday band?

List the top 10 songs that you think radio (or a music channel) has just played so far into the ground it's at the earth's core, even if you liked it.

Here's mine...
1.) "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" by Rolling Stones
2.) "Unchained Love" by whoever sang it first
3.) "Thriller" by Michael Jackson
4.) "Gangsta's Paradise" by Coolio
5.) "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd
6.) "Push" by Matchbox 20 (anything else on that CD)
7.) "It's Been Awhile" by Staind
8.) "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback
9.) "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind
10). "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morisette

I would say that many times the best songs are the simplest

What musical artist should just stop now, because they have nothing more to say or offer -- or maybe they've just become a parody of themselves -- and they are just re-hashing their past to their fans?

It pains me to say this, as I've been a fan for 30+ years...but KISS needs to just stop. They have become their own tribute band, and aren't even attempting to be musically creative anymore.

1.Black Sabbath-debut-for giving Rock music a kick up the ****
2.Metallica-Master of Puppets-for being thrashy and heavy at the same time.
3.Slayer-Reign in Blood-for taking the speed up a notch
4.Emperor-In The Nightside Eclipse-for being both evil and atmospheric
5.Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory-for introducing catchy metal to the masses

I have to admit that, going on 40 years since its release, The Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar" and Foreigner's "Hot Blooded" still do it for me.
