any fans? i recently bought the ultimate collection by them, really only knowing maybe 5 or 6 songs by them.. and fell in love with every song on it, i think although they are known to mostly every rock fan, they are definitely under rated, they have amazing songs, and really should be right up there with zeppelin and the beatles

I LOVE the Kinks, they're such an amazing band. I love the way they are never restricted to any one genre. they have such different sounds depending on the album.
And Dave Davies has to be one of the most underrated guiatrist ever. He practically invented the hard rock riff.

I completely agree. The Kinks are one of the most amazing bands who never got the credit they deserve. I read one article where they actually said, the kinks dont know how to play their instruments...and that sad fact carries through in sound. stood out as one of the most rediculous things i've ever seen. To me they were a perfect middle between beatles and the stones. Shangri-la and So Mystifying are 2 of my top songs ever. Victoria and Lola are on that list too. haha, thank god for The Kinks

They're a great band with great writing. It's no wonder Pete Townshend is a fan.

But I don't think they're too underrated. Maybe compared to the Beatles, The Who, and the Rolling Stones they're underrated, but the Kinks are a very influential band.

Yes the kinks are amazing I love the guitar and the guy's voice perfectly fits. they were way ahead of their time playing hard rock during the British invasion time when many other bands were just covering RnB songs.

I definitely recall drinking Ripple wine and listening to "Lola". Certain songs take you right back to a certain moment in time. I think it was around 1969 and there was a young lady present, but the rest of the certain time is special for me only

I love the kinks as well. They've got to be my favorite "British Invasion" band ever. Def underrated. They're one of those bands that a person on the street will say they never heard of. Then, when you play one of their songs (ex-You Really Got Me), they'll say "Ohhhh...That's who they are!"

I love The Kinks. But, they aren't on the same level as The Beatles. My favorite two songs by them are "Sunny Afternoon" (God, this song is freakin' amazing!) and "Waterloo Sunset".

I think they are great. I had a similar experience to yours. I heard "Lola" and loved the song and then listened to there other songs and just love the sound.

I always think of them as the poor man's Who. The problem is I think they're great, then I hear the Who and they don't stack up.
