Are there any albums I have forgotten? Like Paradise Lost-Gothic-for inventing Gothic Metal?

Thank you Ryknow, DEICIDE is the one I forgot! I would go with their first album though. I met Glenn at the Astoria in London and got his autograph!

I would say your top 4 are right on the money.
You should add
At The Gates - Slaughter Of The Soul - introduced the world to the Gothenburg sound.
Deicide - Legion - for being the epitome of death metal at its time
Pantera - both Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven - for revolutionizing the genre.

I like your top three. I might have to add Entombed-Wolverine Blues and Mastodon's Leviathan to those. That's just me though, just an opinion. Nothing beats Reign in Blood though. Goatwhore's Eclipse of Ages Into Black is PURE EVIL and really thrashy too if you can handle the vocals.

Not so much an album, but I would add Anthrax' "I'm the Man" and "Bring the Noise" for creating the whole rock / rap genre....... then again, maybe that's not such a good thing.
