About how much (generally) would a typical upright piano in good condition sell for?
I bought it in 2002 and it probably wasn't made more than 10 years before that...

Isn't Baroque a style of music, as well at the period in history? Couldn't someone on modern days write a baroque composition?

I practice the piano 6-7 hours a day. I have already exceeded my instructor's level. I have done a lot of study in classical music. I am also very talented and a fast learner. I have a big repertoire. In my home country, I was taught by a pupil of a pupil of a pupil of Franz Liszt. I am also a nerd at school. With all the explanation, Mamianka is still giving me the advice 'do some homework' or criticizes my skills without the smallest knowledge of my character. I am also a perfectionist.

I want to know the composer and name of this piece of music if anyone has an idea. The music starts about position 7:50 in the feed.

you will need to click on the "listen" button. It will open a new window and I think you can skip ahead to the position 7:50

this composition premiered in Paris in 1897. this work was inspired by a poem by a famous German writer. please identify this composition (it is fairly well known and was featured in a classic movie). And identify the composer. What is his birth-death dates, and the correct title of the composition (in both its original language and in English translation)? Also what is the source of inspiration for this piece of orchestral program music (hint: it is a comic poem by one of the most famous, if not the most famous, German writers).? And what is the name of the poem in which this musical was based? Have fun with this, cause I am lost

My school holds a music competition each year and for four years in a row this boy has won by playing the piano each time. Last year he won with clair de lune and this year i think he is gonna play rachmaninoffs prelude in c# minor. Im thinking of entering for the first time and i was wondering what kind of piece would offer some worthy competition. Im half way through learning liszt sospiro but i was thinking of some of these as well; rach 18th variation paganini;moonlight sonata (poss. 3rd movement);rach op.33 no. 5; or scriabin 14 prelude e flat minor.

Any thoughts or additional ideas?

John Rutter is prodigious at writing Christian music of various sorts. There's a song I'm pretty sure he wrote that I used to hear on the Moody Bible Institute program "The Sound of Majesty" that had a beautiful chorus of polyphonic alleluias. Does anyone have any idea what song that might be? I've been making my way through all of John Rutter's work (buying CDs, listening to song snippets on Amazon) and I can't identify that song. Can anyone tell me what it is? It's just one song, not a master choral work or anything. I can't even remember how the song begins, only the long chorus.

I've looked at some Bach, but it's not the kind of dark stuff I want. I was like really ominous, almost depressing or foreboding organ music.

My choral teacher told us about Joseph Haydn and how he write an "unfinished" symphony. And the way she described it sounded VERY interesting.
And I want to hear it really bad.
Anyone know a site where I can hear it?
I couldn't find it on limewire.

Im trying to identify a classical piece of music but dont know the name of it or who wrote it, it sounds like:
"dah dah dah dah dah dah dah dadadadada dada dah dah dah dah dah dah dah". I know thats not a brilliant description, it is usually used in a scene where everything is peaceful

Hi there! I'm looking for a classical piece that would start off sweet and move into something slightly scary and evil and then returning to a sweet sound again. I would really like to avoid an allegro but if you want to share one, I'm willing to listen. Thanks!!
