Hi there! I'm looking for a classical piece that would start off sweet and move into something slightly scary and evil and then returning to a sweet sound again. I would really like to avoid an allegro but if you want to share one, I'm willing to listen. Thanks!!

also, I'm totally okay with portions of a song. I'm not going to be able to use the whole thing anyway...thanks!

Funny == this is the second time I have suggested this piece today -- I'm getting repetitive.

Prelude #15 by Chopin starts and ends with the same sweet and serene theme, but the middle section is more like a funeral march. Just what you are looking for.

There's one piece that comes to mind.

Try Frederic Chopin's Etude in E Major (Op. 10, No. 3). The melody in the exposition and recapitulation is very sweet, but the development section is a bit more disturbing.

You may find this music at www.imslp.org; they have all kinds of sheet music which is public domain, by all kinds of composers.

Have fun.

maybe the moonlight sonata [beethoven]...

it depends on the instrument
if it is piano there's the
Arabesqu no. 1 from Deux Arabesques [debussy]
or
Fantasy Impromptu by Chopin (it's a little fast though)
oh and Sonatina no 1. (Clementi)
it starts sweet and has some scary/creepy movements here and there (it ends sweetly).

Maybe the Romeo & Juliet Fantasy by Tchaikovsky?
