Everyone (not everyone, but mainly those of older audiences) who grew up wit hip hop in the 80's always try to label ALL kids within a certain age groups..lets say 13-17,18, with not knowing about hip hop, the origins, the legendary artists that paved the way for the artists we have today..just because the likes of Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, *insert ringtone rapper here*, etc. are popular, they judge all of us with not knowing anything outside of that...yet look at the BET Hip Hop awards, all grown ppl, people who grew up wit the 80's Hip Hop dancing to Soulja Boy, they liked the song, it was entertainment..I dont see anyone trying to strip them of their "Hip Hop Merit of Honor", yet if its a teen doing it, all of a sudden "o they dont know anything about hip hop"..what gives them any more liability? most of these same people probably have never done an in-depth search of artists today to see if they could connect with any..just dismiss it all based on what you saw on TV...
