ive written a song... its suppose to be a rock song. its not AWESOME or anything but i think it could be pretty good. i want to sell it to like a record company or a singer or something (and not let any1 else claim it as their own) but i want to do it online. if its impossible then wats the best & easiest way to do it without giving a demo. and how much would i get for it (rough estimate)? its got no music and it has 1 or 2 "could maybe be better" spots in it, but when u fix it, i think its pretty sweet. thanks

First of all, if you have proof you wrote a song on your hard drive and intended to use it to make money and someone runs out and copyrights the exact or near-exact version of your song, you can get royalties from it by suing and proving when you wrote it. So stop acting like everything you write is a gold mine for thieves.

Second of all, you need to expose your writing to others to get better at it. If you write a good song that has a chance to make somebody's album the first few times out, what about the next ten songs? Hiding your work will regress all that is good about it. Get it out there! It's fickle to think everything you write will go platinum.

If you have real good stuff, take it to a poetry reading and recite it. If you have even more guts, go to where a band is rehearsing with someone you know and try to get them to take it on. Good luck with whatever you decide to do with your creative talents.
