I just read, hope it's not true, that at a concert in Minot, North Dakota, Canadian were asked to identify themselves and then asked to leave. He apparently told the stunned audience that he would not perform for Canadians as their country refused to help out in the fighting in Iraq.
If this is true, why didn't he ask all American that didn't believe in the war to stand up? Would he have had much of an audience left?
The reason I want to know if this is true is because I do like his music and will have to travel some distance to see him on his Canadidan tour. But if he kicks out Canadians attending his US concerts why would I pay to see him. If he disdains us so much to sticking to our principles, don't declare war until you have proof.
Why would I pay good Candadian dollars to pay for his lifestyle when my Canadians are dying everyday to promote peace in Afghanistan. Remember Afghanistan!

Back in the 50's, we had great guitarists like Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. In the 60's, more guitar legends came to be, in particular George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix. In the 70's, Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, Angus Young, etc. dominated the scene. Then the 80's had a crap load of great heavy metal guitarists that no one really knows the names of.

Somewhere around the early 1990s, a new generation of music began. From the time of the grunge scene to now, who are/were the greatest modern guitarists?

Here's what I think:

Jack White of the White Stripes. Great guitarist overall. The way he uses guitar effects effectively really impresses me. Especially how he created that bass sound with his guitar in "Seven Nation Army". In general, the White Stripes are one of the better modern bands.

I like singers and bands who write their own music and play their own instruments, and put more emphasis on their sound than their look, and don't exploit themselves sexually. With the exception of KT Tunstall, there doesn't seem to be anyone with real musical talent out there.

I blast music that isn't the kind of music most people blast. I like doing it with my The Best Of Simon and Garfunkel disc, and The Shins. does anyone else do things like this in the car or is it just me.

My niece can't listen to "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and I was telling her about some other really sad country songs. Please help me add to my list. The ones that I know are:
1) I'll Be True To You-Oakridge Boys
2) Just Beyond The Moon-Tex Ritter
3) Goodbye Maggie Goodbye-Sonny James
4) Me and Little Andy-Dolly Parton
5) He Stopped Loving Her Today-G. Jones (of course!)

Thanks for any help you can give! :)

Somebody help me out here.

Pink made a song that was all like 'yeah. girl power. just you and your hand since i turned you down [wink wink] don't objectify me you dirty rat.'

Then the video comes out. How does posing in various costumes have anything to do with this song? I'm thinking, wow. How is she going to do this in a video, then the video comes out and...uh...what was that song about?

Did I miss something? Was she trying to be ironic with the whole 'don't objectify me' angle, then committing the video to objectifying herself?

You know in the song "One in a million" by guns n roses?
Well Axl sings "n*ggers stay outta my way"

Does that make him a racist?

I probably sound stupid for asking this but w/e.

And Slash is half black so did he not get offended by that?

I like some g n r songs but thinking that axl is racist just really puts me off the music.

I know it's an african american girl who sings it. She has a killer bod and the video has clips from a movie. The movie's basic premise is some kind of dance-competition/dance-off.
The only line I can remember from the song is in the chorus:
"The club is jumping now, so get up"

First off, it's not the Lonely Los Boys. My mom wants me to find out what song this is. She said it went like "how far is heaven, wont you tell me" and had the word 'faith' in it a lot. I tried to Google it but that song by Lonely Los Boys keeps coming up and my mom said that isn't it. So if you know it, I need the answer pretty quick.

Thank you in advance!!

I am trying to submit my lyrics for the Mcdonald's Promotion for Ne-yo's Lyricmaker Contest. I tried to submit them and they were refused saying that I had an improper slur of some sort. They said it was the word, "***" I checked my spelling and saw nothing improper. I am an African-American Female; I would not submit something of that nature. I have until Sunday to submit these lyrics and I want to be a contender in this contest. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!!

Here are some of the lyrics:

I'm just a girl
With good intentions
I don't cry
To get attention
Most of the time...

I'm just a girl
I do some damage
I use my gender
To my advantage
Is this a crime?!

And if ever Im caught
Doing what I should not
They'll assume
I'm an innocent girl

I'm just a girl
I keep my promise
I won't bite
Completely harmless
Most of the time...

I'm just a girl
My wrath is tender
Bat my eyes
And they surrender
Is this a crime?!
