Just interested to get opinions here.

I'm female and 34. My lowest note is a D below middle C and my highest is probably top G (just above the stave) I can't really get any higher than that.

I have always beleived myself to be an alto or contralto - thats what I've always sung in choirs etc, I'd say I have the same kind of range as Amy Lee from Evanescence who is also supposed to be an alto. I've successfully performed a few Evanescence songs, they feel very comfortable.

So why oh why did one of my previous singing teachers insist I was a "lazy soprano" and keep giving me stuff that was way too high for me to sing?! I stopped lessons with her because it was just too frustrating!

If you could take 3 music groups with you on an island would it be (The Beatles/The Hollies/The Zombies) OR (50 Cent/Eminem/Christina Aguilera)? Now you can only pick option 1 or 2. I don't know the exact lyrics or I'd look it up...the lyrics are something like, Please let me talk to her.....operator says something like "pay for 3 more minutes" ? I believe this was from the 70's or maybe 80's and was a soft rock type breakup song. It's not Jim Croce "Operator".
