Because he's a total hypocrite. He swans about in fancy cars and his mansion while asking hardworking people to hand over money to the third world. Him and his 'celeb' mates could dig into their own pockets for a change instead of trying to raise their profiles by claiming to be ambassadors for the poor.

Why don't you like Mr Bono? He is a great guy and I love him! But then I am an African.
Seriously, stick to music and give the politics a rest, Hewson.

I wouldn't know either way but I can definitely say this- I'd probably find myself being an @$$ from time to time if everywhere I went cameras and reporters were in my face 24/7.

I've heard he gives quite a bit of money to good causes so he can't be all that bad can he??

Like I said, I don't know him personally.

I admire him standing up for Africa but then, I always feel a bit cynical about rich celebs supporting these sorts of causes and asking for money to feed starving people when you consider that they themselves live in big fecking houses and chateaus in the souht of France, and drive ferraris and shop at Harrods and avoid paying taxes (which should go to the Government to help poor people in your OWN country!)

Seems a bit hypocritical to me for millionaire tax evaders to preach about starving people,

I read how he is finding ways for tax evasion. Its not good when you threaten people to do something about poverty, then commit your time to protecting your own millions from the government you are accusing of not doing or providing enough for third world countries.

I don't like the man.

He's going on about poverty all the time, but I read the tickets to his concert in Brazil were worth twice the average monthly Brazilian income.

I don't consider him a dick, I like his music, and I even find him sexy, but I hate when he's messing with politics... Musicians don't belong in politics... Just sing and entertain, who wants to hear your opinion on war in Bosnia?
