Are you referring to the whole spectrum of electronic music or more specifically more experimental electronic music (Aphex Twin, Autechre et al.)? You would find drug usage to be more common in the genres of electronic music that are more club based liked techno, house, trance, breaks, drum and bass and garage with the drug of choice differing for every genre.
Then there are other "left-field" or experimental electronic/ electronica music fields, not club based specifically and more suited to home listening, either due to it's over-eager experimentalism or it's minimal construction. Listeners of this type of electronic music tend to be more intelligent as the music tends to lean more to mathematics than straight laced normal composition. Many of the artists who produce this type of music also site and use classical music (albie it more modern composers like Phillip Glass, Steve Reich, Sakamoto) as an influence and, in some cases, employ a similar production ethos to making the music.
To say that all people who listen to electronica are crazy is too broad a generisation. Yes some are, but not all of them.

I like some electronica... I don't do drugs and I'm not nuts.
I think that every genre has some good music.

Actually, they're not all nuts... It's only those who listen to the music to accompany the drugs. But those who really love it for what it is are quite normal :)

believe me its the drugs i have done it far far far too many times and when your in there on drugs you cant help it its like going into a trance and you feel so good just being there but usually its 1 type of music. i have done it in metal clubs and its soooo much better!

exactly it is because of the dugs.it makes you feel tingly and hyper all at the same time so that kind of music keeps the high going
