Movies - 4 November 2007

It's from the 80's. It involves a fat creepy guy that looks like Jerry Garcia, trying to scare kids around a campfire with stories. The first kid shows a joint, so he tells a story about these two guys whose bodies rot when they smoke this pot they get ahold of, but they keep smoking it; The next is about xmas and how Satan Claus comes and kills this jerk who killed his mom, and the 3rd is on a deserted island concerning pirate skeletons and two regular pirates that find buried treasure. It ends with the kids going to sleep and Jerry Garcia dude twisting a hook into his arm, ready to kill the kids.

It's definitely from the 80's and it really just comical more then the 'scary factor' they were going for.....

Any Ideas?

its about two friends that were best friends
since they were little kids.they grew up together in the same neighborhood
and wen 1 had problems the other would help him out. they talked about
anything and would help each other through anything. wen they gor to
high scholl things got different though.1 was popular and the other was
a "normy" but they were still friends even other ppul didnt like it.
they think everythings gonna b ok and they can get through anything
until they realize they like the same girl but she only likes one of them
so they argue and play tricks on one another all through high school.
one day one of the friends overhears the girl saying she is only
pretending to like his friend just to be popular just like him and just playing
with the others feelings so he remembers everything he and his friend
has been through and tells his friend wat he knows but his friend
thinks hes trying to get the girl so he gets into a rage and really hurts
him.wen he gets back home he fins the girl on the couch with another of
his popular "friends" so he leaves her and goes back to his friend but
the doctors say its 2 l8 unless he gives him sumthing (i 4got what).
so he does but he loses too much blood and he dies in the exact same
room and minute as his friend and they go to heaven laughing and holding
as if they were little kids again...

all i can remember about the movie was
it may start out as a period piece a family is traveling across the sea in a boat the little girl falls over board and drowns in present day a woman begins dreaming about a past life im not sure who is in it it ends with the woman dieing and a huge turtle taking the soul of the person back out to sea..
its been bugging me for a while now someone please help!

I'm trying to remember like crazy, but there's this old film, very early 90s or earlier (could even be 80s or 70s) with a boy whose toy soldier/action figure comes to life (actually he appears to him life-sized played by a real person, no CG effects) to aid him to expose a plot to smuggle top secret info. Bits I remember are that his dad didn't have time for him and basically ignores him. His hero is some character that his action figure is based on. It appears to him in real life as a real person and works together with him to uncover some spy plot. I vaguely remember a few scenes like there's this guy who helps him with long hair and geeky glasses, also his toy (the life-sized human version) gets shot at the end but isn't dead because he's imaginary or something. Near the end, they're at an airport and he insists these two old people are spies and they have something in their possession. This is found to be true and they're apprehended. It's an old kids movie. Can anyone help??

I'm doing homework and i need to find examples and situations from the movie "Saw 3" that explain the following types of abuse =
-Physical Abuse
-Emotional/Psuchological Abuse
-Verbal Abuse
-Social Abuse
-Sexual Abuse
-Financial Abuse
....I know there isnt ALL of those kinds of abuse in the movie but if you know a part of the movie that does involve one of these kinds of abuse, then please tell!

I was just wondering why this film is considered one of the greatest films of all time? What makes this film a classic? I've watched this movie, and I'll admit, it's a good film but I don't understand all the hype I read on movie review sites. Is there some symbolic meaning that I'm missing?

it's like an old 70's or 80's horror movie.
I only saw the ending so I don't know what the title is.
Well, at the end, there's this man and a girl and they seem to be fighting kind of. The man has his eyes poked out and he's like "where are you? where are you?" while the girl's eye s start turning blue. and at the end, the guy starts screaming and his body blows up. his head his arms his legs all over the floor and the credits roll.... anyone know this movie?

Can't remember the title of movie wherein the actor is called moon doggie, played as surfer during his visit on the beach. He was supposed to meet the daughter of his parent's best friend but he doesn't want to. The same is with the girl who doesn't want to have an arranged relationship. The boy run away so is the girl. They met on the beach and had a romantic fling not knowing they are meant by the parents to meet. pls help

Didn't everyone know that most of the connections were through the father and not the son, as Tom Hagan later asserted? Didn't Sollozzo believe the Don when he explained that his connections would be jeopardized if it was learned he was dealilng in drugs? Wasn't it well known that Sonny was a hot head? And if so, how could anyone expect to do a profitable business with Sonny based upon a necessary minimal amount of trust and cooperation after murdering Sonny's father.
