its the instrumental music during the caveman rising scene. i know its a famous one but i could never figure it out.

Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss and yeah, it was used in 2001: A Space Odyssey. After that 1968 movie it became one of the most recognizable movie pieces until Star Wars. Strauss's movement is about 40 minutes long. The portion used in the movie is the "dawn" or "sunrise".
