i was on the phone with the girl i like. and she considers me as her best best friend. she will be going away for the weekend soe tommorow will be the last day i'll see her till monday. on the phone she said "i miss you, and i want you here!" ive never heard that before, so i didnt really know how to respond, but i told her how i felt to. being that i never kissed her on the lips, would tommorow be the perfect time to do so, since i will not see her for 4 days?

This is an honest question, because I wasn't there and I figure people who were have to know better than me.

Here's how I see it. The whole point was to stretch the limits of studio production right? Because the album could never be performed live. And I don't see the huge long term influence in that. I mean music is still made so that it can be played live and (excepting manufactured pop acts) most of the work isn't done in the production room. And then the sound? The simpler pop songs weren't new, the Beatles themselves had done better pop before. The trippier tracks weren't extremely revolutionary were they? I mean has the never ending note at the end of the album had a huge influence on modern music? What was different if you were actually there?

But then an album like The Velvet Underground & Nico actually introduced new concepts that were possible to actually play and not just produce. You can hear the its influence everywhere. Indie, noise, punk, pop and all out art rock.

A guy goes over to his friends house, rings the bell. The wife answers.
"Hi, is Tony home?"
"No, Chris, he went to the store."
"Well, do you mind if I wait?"
"No, come on in."
They sit down and the friend says, "You know Sara, you have the greatest breasts I've ever seen. I'd give you a hundred bucks if I could just see one."
Sara thinks about this for a second and figures, what the hell, a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks. She opens her robe and shows him one. He thanks her and promptly throws a hundred bucks on the table.
They sit there a while longer and Chris says, " They are just so beautiful! I've got to see them both. I'll give you another hundred if I could just see them both together."
Sara say what the hell, opens her robe and gives Chris a nice long look. Chris thanks her and throws another hundred bucks on the table and says he can't wait any longer for Tony and leaves.
A while later Tony arrives home and his wife says, "You know, your weird friend Chris came over."
Tony thinks about this for a second and says, "Well, did he drop off the 200 bucks he owes me?"
