I thought that after three major x-men movies that they would at least release the 5 animated seasons of X-men as shown on FOX in the 90's as a DVD Box set by now. It was such a good tv series.

The X-Men cartoon series is owned by Disney (it came in the Saban buyout deal that got them the Power Rangers and what is now ABC Family anong others).

What's possibly holding this up is the legal wrangling with Marvel Comics (read:getting the OK from the House of Ideas to release it in North America).

In Australia, ya can buy the X-men evolution cartoons on dvd's - but if you are talking about the series before that then I don't know. I think that the series from the early 90's is better and hope it does come out on dvd sooner than later

According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, X-Men is one of the top 15 most requested unreleased shows. Regardless, there are no plans for an official release of season box sets.
