Years ago in England, when things cost a good deal less than they do now, a man walked into a post office to buy some stamps. He laid a crown (a British coin worth 60 pennies) on the counter and said the following: “Please give me some two-penny stamps, six times as many one-penny stamps, and the rest of the money in two and a half-penny stamps.” The woman at the counter, without missing a beat, gave the man the correct number of each type of stamp. How many of each type did she give him?
If you could please explain that it would be great. Im soooo confused.
