I've heard this used in movies like You've Got Mail and Breakfast at Tiffany's. They say "quel rat" or "quel nightmare." I'm assuming it's French.

Hello

I'm looking for a word that fits the definition of "worried or concerned of other's opinions about you".

thank you

Mine are:

1. "Should/would of"
2. People misusing "literally". "I literally exploded with rage" - can you imagine the carnage?
3. People who can't conjugate "to be". Other languages you have to conjugate into six persons. In the past we have two forms, was and were, and people STILL say "you was".

Do you think I'm really anal?

It's something you wear around your neck...I forgot the word for it. It's not Talisman or Amulet, but it has the same meaning (or maybe not so much the same meaning...). If anyone out there just happen to have the word I'm looking for, please don't hesitate to tell me what it is; I'm writing a story that goes to it--hell, I'm writing a story about it.

English, as it is in England, is considered to be chaste by many. Many argue that Americans are harming the language. There is also an opinion shared by many that non-native speakers of English (like Indians, Pakistanis and other Asians) have made valuable contributions. Your views please!
