The term babyboomer refers to the babys concieved immediately after Vietnam War. This is because when the U.S soldiers came home most had children out of the shear joy of being home with their wives thus resulting in many many babies being born at around the same time. Nine months after being conceived of course.

There was a baby boom, or increase in the birth rate, in the United States between the end of World War II and the early 1960s.
Men got back from the war, married, moved to the suburbs and started having kids....many of whom were teenagers/hippies during the 1960s and later become financially successful in the 1980s.

After World War Two, there was a major rise in the economy of the nation and the spirit of the people due to the return of peace and the return of the men from war. As a result, there was more prosperity for a larger number of people and this resulted in many more people having babies more quickly. This phenomenon became referred to as the "baby boom" and the people born during it became "baby boomers".

After a major war like WW2 alot of babies are born. The military men have come home and the first thing they do is make love to their wives cause they miss them. Then there is a boom of babies in the country as a result

The generation right after the war is called baby boomers because that's when alot of kids were born. Since all the people came back from the war alot of people were getting pregnant.

Means that when GI's came home after WWII they did a lot of Booming to make up for years of war and in doing so increased the population.
