A square table is constructed with an obstruction in the middle of it, so that When 4 people are seated, one on each side, each can see his neighbors to right and left but not the person seated directly across. The 4 people seated at this table were told to raise their hands if, when looking to the right and left, they saw at least one woman. They were also told to announce the sex of the one person whom they could not see, if they could figure it out.
Since, as a matter of fact, all 4 people were women each raised her hand but then several minutes went by before one of them announced that she was certain that the person seated opposite her was a woman. How could she logically have come to that conclusion?
