Make a small mark on the wire with a lead pencil (or any mark or ink that will transfer to paper)...
Roll the wire across a piece of paper so that the mark transfers at least twice...
The distance between marks is the wires circumference... (measure with a ruler)...
Divide by pi (3.14...) and this is the diameter...
