Minnehaha ,Laughing water, is the arrow maker's daughter.
She married Hiawatha in the lands of the Dacotahs.

The U.S. Poet Laureate is chosen annually by the Librarian of Congress. Originally, the title was "Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress". The poet serves for one year and is a primary impetus in keeping poetry alive and on the minds of Americans.
The current (from 2006) apoet Laureate is a poet/essayist from New Hampshire, Donald Hall. He writes about rural life and baseball, and of the rigors of American life.
