I have heard it called the "A" Section but is that it's official name? I know the other sections vary per edition and are individually titled with headings like Business and Health but what is the first section of the newspaper called if it has an actual, official name?

I was just wondering how and when the automobile started being referred to as a car....was it from carriage or was it just a slang word given to the automobile to make it easier to reference.
