I have heard it called the "A" Section but is that it's official name? I know the other sections vary per edition and are individually titled with headings like Business and Health but what is the first section of the newspaper called if it has an actual, official name?

When I worked in a newsroom, we always called in the Main (short for main section).
In our paper, the main section included national & international news and the editorial page... which are sections of their own on Sunday, but part of the Main section during the week.
